He's absolutely killing low A hitters, it's time we move him on up. His ERA is outstanding and so is K/Walk ratio.

He can move up next year. There's only a few weeks left in the season, so it's kind of pointless now. He still needs a lot of work on his off-speed stuff, but there's plenty of time to do that.

It'd be nice if he could get a few games in High A before the end of the season. Even if it's only for 1-2 starts.

The Giant's have (again) some interesting pitchers in the low minors. The BIG difference is that now SF is not creating a logjam f mediocre journeymen on the MLB roster or in AAA. Bumgarner ought to just jump to AA next season. I don't believe you need a tight leash on the prime grade talent.

I don't see any reason to rush him. He was able to dominate with his fastball. He still need work with his offspeed pitches. There's no need to rush him.

You can't forget he is still just 19 and is a high school kid, so his path will be more like Cain's than Lincecum. Cain was almost 21 when he made his debut and Bumgarner won't turn 21 until August 2010.

In today's Oak vs SF giants telecast, Kruk and Jon Miller NBC sports announcers said Baumgardner struck out Manny Ramirez in three pitches in Scottsdale.
I think this kid will be the first call up if not this season but definitely next season.

He won't be called up this season.
His fastball is almost practically MLB ready but he needs to work on his secondary stuff. I agree that he gets a 2010 callup but I'm thinking September of that year. No need to rush him.

Three one hit innings (4 k's) against most of the Dodgers starters is pretty impressive. The kid just refuses to disappoint in the least. Manny had some nice things to say about him, too.

He's great.," Manny told The Chronicle after the strike-out, referring to Bumgarner. "He's nasty. Nineteen? Wow. That's unbelievable. He's great. Good fastball, good curveball and sneaky."
