Why does the shaky Redskins defense have reason to hope this Sunday?
Why does the shaky Redskins passing game have reason to hope this Sunday?
What good thing did Jason Taylor do yesterday?

Portis just called out the entire offense other than himself. I don't see Zorn being able to handle him so this will probably be an issue all season. If they lose big against the Saints it's going to get ugly.

It seemed to me like Portis was talking about his entire tenure in DC. Not just under the Zorn administration. Given Denver's penchant for creating successful running backs I think there would be alot of backs who would like to play in that system. Clearly he had his most success there, I'd bet that if you took a look at the RB's that left that system none has come close to replicating the success that they had in Denver.

CP is just pissed cuz his O-Line played like poo, and nobody is respecting the passing game yet. Both are to be expected.

After any Redskins loss, it's going to get ugly, especially when if it means you are 0-2.

Portis and the o line actually played well. Special teams and lack of a consistent passing game is probably going to cost the Redskins this one.

Amazing what happens when a QB has time to throw the ball. JC looked like an NFL QB today.

And Chris Horton, I think he may have stolen Reed's job.

This was so awesome :D

I missed the Giants game and only caught this one cause my brother told me it was on, but damn am I glad I tuned in. The 4th quarter was so fun to watch.

Love that they took the risk at 4th and 2.

Looks like country bumpkin, slow Jason Campbell got it done today.

Reed Doughty is such a bum. Thank goodness we have a potential stud in Horton back there to make plays.

Hey, I'm just happy for the win...

***breathes huge sigh of relief***
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Argh, missed it, are they going to show it again?

Oh, and if anyone says, well, yeah, the saints defense was injured, you know what? No one can ever, ever use that excuse against us, ever ever ever again. You've got injuries? Whah frickin whah.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

After the loss to the Giants I said Campbell wasn't Zorn's QB. Seemed to me Campbell was totally uncomfortable being forced to do something he wasn't good at. Thinking about it more after that loss I told my dad it was like he was really scared to make a mistake and that he and the coach might not trust each other much.

Man, what a difference a week makes.

"We talked a lot during the week," Campbell said. "I said 'Coach, just trust me.' And he said, 'I've got to trust you more.' We do it together."

Maybe that's all that was missing against the Giants.

Thrilled with Horton's play and he either supplants Doughty or takes a great deal of his pt but let's be classy here; Doughty is a back up who was pressed into duty when Sean Taylor died. He's not all world but I can't think of too many losses I blame on him. With that said Horton was freaking sweet this week.

The Saints had absolutely no secondary but a year ago Campbell and Moss miss connecting on that bomb by 1 yard, so I'm thrilled to see that they connected. Portis' mouth will always be a problem but Portis doesn't get enough credit for being able to manuever through some tight spaces and take some contact before going down (unlike Reggie Bush).

Cooley took some serious hits and kept going, thrilled to see him involved. Jason Taylor is already contributing and toughing it out through injuries. Can't wait to see the postgameheroes.com breakdown to figure out if Carter just got bottled up or if they are doubling him instead of Taylor.

Also, it seemed that Zorn was more committed to the run this week and did more off play action. What Campbell ran against the Saints didn't look like the classic WC offense. Kudos to Zorn for adapting his offense to his players.

^ See, I would have expected that from a loyalist like Gibbs. But Zorn had the balls to bench Jansen, so why is he sticking with Doughty? Maybe he's leaving that up to Blache and so Blache is the idiot here.

But weren't all of Horton's turnovers actually caused by someone else and he just picked them up?

Pretty much. The fumble he recovered was forced by Rocky McIntosh and laying on the ground for like 10 seconds. Both interceptions were tipped up in the air by others.
