Send Downs to the minor leagues already. Better yet, waive him....

Cito is going to single-handedly destroy this pitching staff. Litsch throwing that many pitches on 3-days rest (when he clearly did not have it) is absurd. League and Carlson have been the team's best relievers the past week or so, yet Carlson pitches in game 1 with an 8-run lead, and League gets taken out in game 2 so that Downs (who is dead tired by now) can blow the game.

I think Cito should top this off by having Halladay throw 200 pitches tomorrow, just for kicks and giggles.

If there's one thing I hate, it's abusing pitchers. The Jays have a major competitive advantage moving forward (pitching), and proceed to hire a manager who will piss that resource away if given the time. Very frustrating.

he should have stuck with brandon league who looked ok instead of downs who's been nothing short of a disaster in his last few appearances

didn't catch the game, but looks like downs didn't have it... he was VERY reliable in the first 3/4 of the season, and seems to have fallen off. I'm sure he's just as frustrated as most of us are. Somehow, I'm still confident in the guy.

Anyway, losing this game really does hurt, and pretty much does it for us sadly... instead of being 5.5 GB, we're not 7.5.

Downs falling down face first trying to field Pedroia's hit was one of the saddest looking plays I've seen. Well this is the end of our playoff chances. Yet another disappointing season with some bright spots and reason to possibly be optimistic for next year. I'm still skeptical though.

I'm hoping this whole experience teaches the Jays that they really need to get their f'n act together from Day 1. Knowing they could've won the wild card should insert some sort of consistency for an entire season, and not just 1/4 of one.

Everytime I see Roy's look after a loss or no decision like today, I get scared that he will lose it, or ask for a trade. I know he's not the type of guy that would do anything like that, but he deserves better than the stingy run support he has got this season.

^^ congrats on the 4000 posts

well, this pretty much seals it.. losing 3/4 to Boston was NOT an option, and it happened.
