Well, Hawes is going to start at center for the first 5 games due to Miller's suspension (drug-related). If Hawes can perform well under these circumstances. We will give him significant minutes IMO. But regardless, I think I can see Hawes playing 20+ minutes next year.

Re: spencer
I think he'll probably get around that many minutes. I'm hoping that one of our coaches finally gets the hint that Brad's body can't take playing 36MPG for a whole season and brings his minutes down--which would in turn leave more minutes for spencer.

Re: spencer
Spencer will probably be the first big off the bench. Brad likely plays 32-34 minutes a game, and the rest go to Spencer, with occasional Brad/Spencer teamups. I think he'll get around 20-24 minutes a game.
One might be concerned with Thompson taking Hawes' minutes, but I think he'll take over as the starting PF and Moore will be relegated to the bench.

Re: spencer
Defensive matchups and foul trouble could play a role in who plays night in/night out. Brad and Mikki are established and the Ref's know them so they will get veterans respect. Hawes, Thompson and Williams all need to pay some dues. So IMHO minutes will go to the best defenders who don't get in foul trouble.

Well, this is when he started:
12.3/7.6/2.3/0.5/1.6
Keep in mind he was 19 yrs old at the time. Pretty decent numbers for a youngster that lacked strength and recovering from the knee surgery early in the season. Well, he was at 100% after all star break iirc though.
So, if he averaged 25+ minutes, I can see those numbers mentioned IMO...

We will get to see what Spence can do in the starting role those first five games due to Brad's suspension. I could see Spence getting close to 20/10 with 30+ minutes, say 18/7 or 17/8. I would like to see Spence and Brad on the floor together at some point.

20/10? 17/8? I was thinking more in lines of 13-14/8...But then again, how stronger Hawes is? Did he improved his muscle mass to gain a more effective hold down in the post?

Re: spencer
I could maybe see those kind of stats the first few games into the season if he really hits the ground running, but there's no way he could keep that up--even if he got the minutes.

You are probaly right. 17 or 18 would be Spence's best nights. But Heck, those first 5 games, someone has to take the shots

The pre-season games should be interesting. I hope we see a Hawes, Thompson, Greene, Martin and Garcia line up at some point in pre-season. Thats a tall quick team

Re: spencer
I wouldn't be surprised to see Spencer struggle a little bit. It depends on how training camp goes I guess and how fast these guys can put together some cohesion.
