Last I checked, national pundits like Stephen A. Smith and David Aldridge, also write for Philly papers and cover the NBA. And did you ever consider that Jasner is kind enough to personally respond to literally thousands of emails, so he doesn't have the time to bother with ensuring that they have perfect punctuation - the goal is speed so everyone can get a response. Nothing wrong with Sixer beat writers, just like there is nothing wrong with beat writers for any other teams in Philly. As good as other cities and better than most.

These guys are not even local 76ers beat writers. Smith is originally from NY and is a Knick fan. Aldridge is a nationally syndicated writer. Some folks on this website just make me laugh all day long with their silly remarks. Your remarks are poignant and not silly. Their are some guys on this website that will never receive an answer from me and the same can probably be said from some posters about me. Some people just come here daily to take a poster down.

P.S- I have been saying for years that I like all our writers for our sports teams, but I have never liked our basketball writers. They are just there to collect a check and collect a little data. That is not the way to do a job. I believe in giving 100%. Norm Hitzges gives 100% every day . Jasner gives 40% a day, lol.

On the Big Scale of Controversies this ranks a 2 out of 100.

Thanks for the wise crack. It only took you 12 days after the post to come up with the crack.

This isn't a controversy, it's idiocrasy. Philly beat writers are as good as beat writers of any other team and the NBA coversage in our papers is better than most. This alleged remark by Stefanski is utterly beyond a non-issue. At no point did he say that he would not have signed another center had Jason Smith not gotten hurt, he said that he likely would not have signed Ratliff had Smith not gotten hurt. What's the problem with that? Did that warrant an article in the news paper? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. An article taking umbrage with the GM about his personal opinion of how he would have structured his off-season if something did not happen when it did. It would be akin to writing an article about how if Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant were Sixers, Stefanski wouldn't even have signed Brand, so there to Stefanski. Ratliff has played in how many games in the last 3 seasons? How many games has he missed? How old is he? What are his numbers? And he did sign the guy. The point was that he would have gone another way if Smith was healthy and unless you can prove that this was a huge mistake even though it didn't happen, a beat writer should have been fired if he wrote a story about that. Beat writers write facts, not silly opinions about what could have been if we had one 12th man over another even though we don't. Nothing coudl have been. Would have made no difference and it is what it is. Just because your personal over reaction to a non-issue did not warrant an article by a Philly beat writer is not an indication of their lack of coverage, it's an indication of your unwarranted high opinion of your own opinions. The fact that no one else on a Sixer board cared either simply reinforced the fact that you were complaining about a lack of a story about a non-story.
