A ticket premium that will add as much as $55 to the cost of an admission to seven home Lakers games during the 2008-09 season was announced on Tuesday.

The premium to be levied on individual Lakers tickets will range from $10 on a $35 seat to $55 for a $260 seat and be in effect for home games against Boston (Dec. 25), Cleveland (Jan. 19), San Antonio (Jan. 25), New Orleans (Feb. 20), Phoenix (Feb. 26), Dallas (March 15) and Houston (April 3).

how many of you guys actually make it a habit to get out to a lakers game? i've been to about an average of one game a year the past 3-4 yrs. before that, i think i went to a game once every 3 years.

Its not like ive ever had the budget to go to those games anyway, so I guess it doesnt affect me. (I did go to the Lakers/Hornets preseason game though. Paul is amazing live).

I aim to go to the Lakers vs Nets/Magic/Kings/Blazers.

Honestly I have been to a good amount of games both here in LA and Sactown, and I have been blessed with some good seats and access to these games, BUT I think watching it at home is more action packed than sitting in the arena.
Now some of these games are defiantly exciting to watch live specailly the Cs and the Suns.
But I can see why they are deciding to raise the prices on the premium games cause when you do watch these certain games, its basically one of the best games you can watch live.
The rivalry, the players involved, the amount of coverage etc.
So Buss being Buss and as every promoter would do the same thing, he wants to cash in on a sure thing.
Just think of it this way, on an average of the increase for all these games, he might be able to make well over 1.5 to 2 mil a game easly.
Is Buss being greedy?
No, cause if he was greedy then he would raise the prices on every seat for the entire season, but all he is doing is taking advantage of a great opportunity trying to make more cash.
Also its not that high of a price either. I think its fair.
Props to him, but greedy ..........I dont think so in this case.

as long as jerry doesn't get the bright idea of pay perviewing local games on FSW he can charge whatever the hell he wants, there is always a flavor of the month celebrity that will pay whatever it takes to be seen at a Lakers game.

This won't do anything to alleviate the problem of how bad the crowd sucks at Staples Center. I look forward to another season of luke warm crowds, populated by half asleep fans.

There should be a vote...

Keep LO and Bynum and raise the price for 7 games...

Keep Turiaf and raise the price for 9 games
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

All proceeds will go towards Kobe's next contract.
