I heard on the radio the game won't be blacked out. So, I'm happy about that, because I sold my tickets a few weeks ago. I fully expect us to win this game!

Great game by both the offense and defense today. 2-0 at home!

Another typical road loss for us.

Teams are going to stack the box against us the rest of the year. Douglas dropped some key balls yesterday, and so did White. We really need close to zero drops to have a chance to win games this year.

I think we lose to Green Bay, and then lose to Chicago.

Overall I wasn't too disappointed, because it was an expected performance.

Falcons prepare to play Aaron Rodgers

The Falcons are preparing for Green Bay starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers to play on Sunday.

“I saw Aaron throw a ball after his shoulder injury in the game last week,” linebacker Keith Brooking said. “If he had a separated shoulder, I’m not a doctor but, I don’t see how he could do that. … It would be very tough to make that throw with a separated shoulder.”

I'm so glad we got the win after Ryan's interception.

We may be one good draft and a few more guys in the secondary away from competing for a playoff spot.

Why isn't Foxworth playing?

Grimes had a good preseason, but he's terrible.

It's the hottest Atlanta ticket thus far and Chicago is favored to win by 3.

Outstanding game by the team and Matt Ryan. The team plays so well at home and feeds off the fans.

Atlanta Falcons Bye Week Comes At A Bad Time

That falcon is also considering just what to do with his bye week.

With the Falcons at 4-2, brimming with confidence and gumption and other long words, this is not the time for the Falcons to have basically nothing to do for a week. I don't buy into momentum as much as many fans do, but the Falcons are undeniably on a roll right now. It seems a shame that they've got so much twiddling of thumbs ahead of them.

So I turn to you, dear readers. What should the Falcons do during the bye week? Heck, what are you going to do? For my part, I have no choice but to cover local and national elections until little pieces of my soul degrade into darkness.

I'm perfectly fine with the bye week considering we have two straight road games coming up.

Falcons turn to Eagles

The Falcons spent Monday wrapping up their bye week internal examination. They shift their focus to the Philadelphia Eagles when they return to practice on Wednesday.

“They’re a very good football team,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “They’ve got a number of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, starting with their quarterback [Donovan McNabb]. They’ve got one of the most dynamic running backs [Brian Westbrook] that can do all kinds of things.”

The Eagles (3-3) also are coming off their bye week and are expected to have Westbrook, former Georgia receiver Reggie Brown (hamstring) and wide receiver Kevin Curtis (sports hernia) back this week. All three haven’t played in the same game this season.

Westbrook, who missed two games, will be the focal point for the Falcons’ defense. He is expected back from broken ribs and a strained ankle.

“They are a very different team when he’s in the games,” Falcons linebacker Keith Brooking said. “He’s a game changer.”

In Westbrook’s absence, Eagles rookie receiver DeSean Jackson is blossoming. He leads the team in receptions and receiving yards.

McNabb also looks healthy.

“McNabb is back,” Brooking said. “He’s healthy and is making great decisions.”

Offensively, the Falcons must prepare for the Eagles’ complex blitz packages. Defensive coordinator Jimmy Johnson will take his shots at confusing rookie quarterback Matt Ryan.

The Eagles blitz from just about any position as all three linebackers and both safeties have at least one sack.

“Defensively what they do schematically is pretty dynamic,” Smith said. “They have a lot of exotic blitzes, so it’ll be a challenge for our offense to get prepared for that.”

I'll be happy if we stay within two touchdowns.

Philadelphia favored to win by 9 points concerns me. Coming off a bye week I hope our boys are ready to steal one on the road. Both New Orleans and Carolina have difficult games as well. Tampa takes on Dallas and it's still unclear if Tony Romo will play.

Falcons DT Grady Jackson faces a four-game suspension for violating NFL drug policy. And he's not denying the allegation.

Although we played good on both sides of the ball against Oakland, why can't we score in the 2nd half?

We definitely will need to improve on our second half performance if we want to defeat some of our division rivals.

And what do you know....The line against New Orleans is bouncing from Atlanta being favored by 1 point to it being a pick. The O/U for the game is 50.

Sold out Georgia Dome. Will need the fans to blow the place up because we have never beat Drew Brees.

Matt Ryan looks great today against the Saints.

Abraham has another sack to add to his collection.

Need to Remember: the next time the Falcons play the Saints, the DTs need to stay home, so that Brees can't move up in the pocket and Abraham can get a half dozen sacks or so.
