OT: My sister's car just got shot up

Post#1 » by rsavaj » Sun Sep 21, 2008 8:38 am

She was driving w/ her friend an hour ago at 51 and Shea, and then she heard one pop, something hit the car, than another pop, and then something came through the window and the window shattered. Cops came by, said they couldn't really figure out what had happened other than the fact that someone in the car next to her had fired "something" at the car. Her window's shattered(with a small hole), and there's another dent on that same side now.

Pretty effing scary :/.

So, moral of the story: get bulletproof glass on all vehicles you own.

America sure is scary. I listen to a lot of hiphop so I have a really clouded view of America.

Moral of the story: maybe a more responsible gun policy would reduce crimes and tragedies in the US.

If this had happened during the 19th or early 20th century in most parts of the country deputies would put up road blocks and find them. Failing that they go door to door, find them, beat the chit out of them and drag them off to jail. Of course liberals don't desire this kind of effective law enforcement because it incites fear into criminals or might violate some made-up right.

Scary thing is, this could happen anywhere. I would check Maryvale, he might have connections, or might have an idea who did it. j/k

All I have to say, there are a bunch of morons out there, and karma is going to get this criminals.

Hope everyone is ok.

Right near my old high school!

And the 51 is hardly the worst freeway in AZ. The 17 has taken that title for the last few decades.

Yeah the 17 is the worst. the 10 is pretty f'ed up too. Bottom line is, that kind of BS happens out here all the time. No matter where you go or drive. Not just limited to the south side anymore. Glad everyone is ok.

That really doesn't have anything to do with it. No matter what the policy is, it will always be easy to access guns. Blaming the gun policy for the acts of stupid individuals is a fairly close-minded view.

Back to this situation though, that is really scary. Just goes to show you you have to be careful in every situation. My friend is a Phoenix PD Officer in the Bethany Home Road and 19th Ave area and I hear plenty of stories about the crazy stuff he sees.

Sorry to hear about that, rsavaj. Those kinds of things even something like that in passing can be pretty traumatic - hope she is doing alright.

Look I understand that the view about guns is different in the US than in the rest of the world (at least Europe), but what you said is incorrect. We all agree that criminals can have guns anyway if they want, but I've never heard of a story like that here in Europe. It's just much more unlikely because guns policies are more restrictive. I don't see how giving everyone a gun keeps the citizenship safe. Studies have proved just the opposite.

I appreciate and always had the freedom that your country has, but is this matter I don't think there should be so much freedom.

Going to be a wake up call for me...Seriously, a gun goes off in NZ and it's national news! Anyone even gets stabbed - fatal or not - and it leads the news...
