Trust me, a player LOVES the fact that people will think he will leave for the highest bidder or better opportunity. It only makes them get more money regardless. In my mind, Lebron isnt going to leave. But why not have most of the media and your team believe that you may possibly leave? He will be in position to get the best possible contract known to man from the Cavs.
That's what I'm thinking as well, Lebron is a smart guy. He has come a long way in terms of business dealings from when he first came into the league. He was the first one to sign that smaller contract extension with that player option, and got Wade to do the same because he knew that by taking that extension he will be in line to make the maximum possible money. Melo was the fool.
He's just sitting there on his loungechair sippin lemonade and crackin smiles at all the speculations. It would only be detrimental to him if he said "Im staying in Cleveland for sure - 100%" Why would teams throw money at Lebron then if he adamantly says he doesn't want to play anywhere else? But basically that is what Lebron has to say in order for everyone to shutup about him possibly playing somewhere else. He won't do that, so all the rumors and speculations will continue until he signs something in 2010. He's a genius for keeping his mouth shut on the matter. Businessman first, Basketball's the afterthought.
Until then, get ready for 2 more years of all this BS talk.
