Welcome to Las Vegas

I would like to welcome your Triple A team to Las Vegas, the city that would die for any type of pro team.

Hopefully your Triple-A here will have a winning season with many great young talents.

Whoa, that's news to me! forgive me if this is old news, i haven't been watching any jays game lately, so i'm a bit out of sync, and the only news i get is thru this forum lol..

i have mixed feelings about this.. on one hand, it must be pretty cool to be in Vegas (for the players sake), but on the other, dam... 5+ hr flight to be called up sounds way too much...

The Blue Jays are closing in on either Las Vegas or New Orleans as their triple-A affiliate for the next two seasons. Neither city is ideal because of the distance from Toronto, but the Blue Jays will have to make do after Buffalo lured over the Mets and Syracuse, their former home, settled on Washington

This was the last place they wanted to be, and they ran out of options. Cashman Field is 25 years old and is really out dated. It is 110 degrees for most of the games, but it is where I live so I can't complain.

People want a new ballpark here, but with the hope of a professional team, there is not much of a chance.

Interesting.. what team was the most recent to have LV as their AAA affiliate?

Other than Travis Snider, don't expect to see any top prospects lol.

We had the Dodgers for 8 years, but now they are in Albuquerque.

Again, no one wants them, Blue Jays get 'em.

Stewart, Mench, Wilkerson....

See a trend?

Vegas will definitely get into talks of a new stadium soon, so no worries for the future

new stadium or not, i really do not think this relationship will last past the 2-year contract that was signed.. besides, even if a new stadium were to be built, I doubt the jays would even have a chance to play on it.. but good for LV to construct a new modern stadium in the near future.

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
