mARBURY, Anyone ??

Post#1 » by azkrock » Tue Sep 23, 2008 12:42 pm

solid bench addition for championship ring?

Report: Knicks Will Waive Marbury This Week

Newsday has learned that the Knicks will waive Stephon Marbury by the end of the week.

The team is likely to place Marbury on waivers and then begin negotiating a buyout once he clears.

Donnie Walsh may be uneasy with the idea of paying Marbury nearly $20 million to play for another team. Owner James Dolan must give his final approval on the decision.

Once Marbury and the Knicks have formally parted ways, Marbury will be free to sign with another team and the Heat figure to be high on the list of teams interested in his services.

Marbury will do well if he's on a team that doesn't require (or allow) him to take any leadership roles whatsoever. I think he would fit well on a team like San Antonio or Phoenix.

... or he could go play in Italy, like he said he wanted to do.

As for the Sixers, I would pass. You don't want him to poison the positive, team concept atmosphere that developed last year. Keep him away for Lou Williams.

I would welcome Marbury, if we didn't have Miller/Louis Williams.

Marbury is crazy, but he can play within a team concept if he has enough talent around him. We just don't have a need for him. He's not an outside threat, and Miller does the same things he can do.

Why even bring it up for the 76ers when the point guard position is good to go with Andre Miller, and Lou Will. Marbury is classless, selfish besides hes on his downside and where would he find minutes on philly. 76ers have a little more class since now that whole fan apperciation night incident with C-Webb/A.I few seasons ago. This Team looks like it will have good chemistry and bringing Marbury is not a need, and would distrupt that chemistry.

He probaly should join D-Wade in Miami, or Suns could bring him back to play co-point guard when Nash needs a rest so he can stay fresh for the postseason. Also Orlando could make room for Marbury with only Jameer Nelson after Arroyo leaving could split minutes with Nelson. Maybe Houston if Alston isn't doing good and Francis isn't healthy still.
I don't think I Trust The Process anymore! :banghead:

If he had Andre Miller's attitude.
Walk the city lonely
Memories that haunt are passing by
A murderer walks your streets tonight
Forgive me for my crimes;don't forget that I was so young
Fought so scared in the name of God and Country

I would do it just so you could get his shoes in sixer colors with the number 3 on them.

Love to have him.....

Retired, so I don't have to see any posts suggesting we pick up him ever again.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
