I thought we were allowed a larger roster until October 1, but if I can only have 15 players as of now, Charlotte would then waive Shannon Brown prior to the deal.

The way I understood it is we can have a larger roster if we already started with one. We can't make trades that will bring that result though.

so if you had 17 players and make a player for player swap = all goodz

You can't however make a player for 2 player swap if it takes you over the limit.

hope that makes sense

EDIT - This goes out the window once the cutoff date comes around. At that point the roster limit of 12-15 comes into play for eveyone.

Hey, I know I told you to go ahead and post it when the Bucks deal was approved but I am actually having some second thoughts about this deal.

The Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls have agreed on a trade.

Dallas Mavericks will send

Dirk Nowitzki- $18,077,904
Brandan Bass- $826,269
2010 2nd round pick

Total- $18,904,173

Chicago Bulls will send

Drew Gooden-$7,151,183
Stromile Swift-$6,200,000
Derrick Rose-$4,822,800
2009 Unprotected 1st Round pick

Total $18,173,983

Works financially

$18,173,983 x1.25= $22,717,478 > $18,904,173

Dallas is pleased to add a true blue chip PG, a solid PF and yet another expiring contract to go along with a 2009 1st rounder. Sad to see Dirk go, but rebuilding as we are, i think this value seems about right.

Dallas will now waive James Singleton to make roster requirements.

Chicago accepts. No one likes to see their top-flight prospect go, but we feel that we add a phenomenal player in Dirk and we replace Drew's post scoring in Bass.

On a side note: Deng and Noah can still be had for certain pieces, all back-ups will be considered for trades, and Hinrich is highly valued.

Where is the cut-off for when the new commissioner starts approving trades? I just want to make sure there isn't any confusion. Do we want to say that trades sent in before noon EST today are approved by the old 4 and trades after noon EST are approved by the new one?
