Portland Gets Livingston - FALSE ALARM

EDIT: There was no press conference tonight and according to posters on the Blazers board, a local Portland radio station has denied the reports that Livingston is signing with the Blazers. Sorry for posting bogus news. Portland instead signed Shavilk Randolph tonight.

Portland Gets Livingston

HOOPSWORLD has also learned that the Portland Trail Blazers will sign free agent Shaun Livingston to a deal, the team is expected to make an official announcement at 4pm PST.

Livingston is expected to be in town and ready for training camp on Monday.

An official announcement from the Blazers is expected later today.

More as this develops.

Great low risk pickup for Portland. Wish Shaun had gone east. He was once my favorite Clipper player. Oh well. So long, Shaun.

I want to know the numbers...is it a lot better than what the Clippers offered? He's not going to get any PT playing behind Roy/Bayless/Blake/Fernandez. Are you kidding me? They have a logjam at the point now.

Yeah, one of the reasons he didn't wanna sign with the Clips was b/c we were "set" at the PG spot...so he goes and signs with a team who is deeper at point?!??! I guess he realized he wasn't as coveted as he thought. I would like to see the numbers, though. The numbers could make everything I just said pointless (no pun intended).

I believe Roy and Fernandez will play the 2, while Blake and Bayless play the 1. In any event, Shaun will be a 3rd stringer at best. The only other teams interested are Minny (Foye/Telfair) and Miami (Chalmers/Quinn). It looks like Miami might be his best opportunity.
