I'd be real disappointed if we didn't match this offer...

No matter what people might say, he was our spark plug off the bench last year. A key to a good bench isn't the names, it's guys that produce higher numbers than most in a limited bench role, Landry has already proven that he might be one of the better in the league in terms of producing off the bench. He was an 8/5 player in 16 minutes per game and showed great growth and development last season. He has the finishing ability, the mid-range jumper, average defense and has a relatively high ceiling.

3 years, 9 million is a bargain

Hopefully we match this offer, or I'm really going to be pissed off. I think he is worth a little less than this, but 3 yrs, 9 million isn't bad at all for what kind of potential he *may* hold.

we will be over the cap with that salary plus Mutombo and Dorsey
so it may be 3 yrs for 9+ million
his first year may be as high as 6 million

if Adelman is comfortable with Scola/Hayes/Artest/Battier/Dorsey at PF
i don't think we are going to match

People will say, well we have ron artest, but realistically we can't expect him to guard every damn person on the other team. Our big men should be able to guard the other big men (not Boozer on Yao bs). I say trade him for a better PF (somebody mentioned Foster). Who knows, maybe landry worked hard this summer and can defend a lot better this season. We'll see.

His defense doesn't suck , he is average.
He tries hard and plays smart , I never remember him reaching and gambling don't know where you got that from.
He has a hard time with bigger players because of his lack of size and short arms , but he will only get better and while defense will never be great it will not be a problem.

EDIT:And our big men can guard the other teams big men , we put Yao on Boozer because he can't come out to Okur on the 3 point line.

Edit: Our big men (other than Yao) get owned by other PFs. When Yao went down, if the other team had a decent frontcourt, it became a really tough matchup for us due to Scola's lack of speed and Landry's lack of size. Other than Mutombo, who I don't think will come back, I don't trust any of the frontcourt players to do decent if Yao goes down again.

With that said, I don't really know of any PF that we could afford to get to plug in the holes. =/

Boozer didn't have a good series against us last year , Scola , Hayes and Landry are the reason for that.

Hayes is a great defender on any pf , Scola and Landry are ok , not great but they are also not a libility at all.
