Grizzlies to sign Ross

The Grizz are expected to sign former Clippers SG Quinton Ross to a non gauranteed deal. Which means that Ross will have to do well in training camp in order to stay on the roster. Ross is known for his defensive plays and is capable of guarding the opponent's best player.

I think Ross has a good chance to stick. My opinion is that he steps in as the best defender at shooting guard, with some ability to guard small forward at times. Every team needs that shutdown guy.

If he does end up making the team the question then becomes what do they do with Jaric, Buckner, and even Crittendon as other backups like Ross? I guess it signals that Warrick gets the nod as fulltime power forward with these other guys as a combination backing up Gay. It definitely puts the squeeze on the roster.

Personally I would like to see him make it. I've liked Ross for a while and what he brings to his team is undervalued. The Grizzlies can use a perimiter defensive specialist, especially when it won't cost them much at all.

That's the main question I have with the signing of Ross. How will they make room for him with a full backcourt. here's another question. With this current backcourt roster outside of Mayo and maybe Conley offensively, who else can step in with more offense considering that the rest of the players are either defensive specialists or inconsistant on offense?

Backcourt roster
Conley, Lowery, Jaric, Critt
Mayo, Buckner, Ross?(if he gets pass training camp), Critt
