Won their preseason opener today 4-3 at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

I didn't mention that I attended the Red/White Event up in Rockford this past Sunday. Really neat. Kyle Beach has a bit of a temper, seeing Kane as a center was a little odd, and Toews has not lost much of anything during the offseason. He was all over.

3-0 now with a 4-3 win tonight over the Dallas Stars. Toews had 2 power play goals.

Hawks win 7-4 tonight in Coloardo and move to 5-2 this preseason. Havlat and Byfuglien each had 2 goals. Sharp, Seabrook, and Bolland got the other goals. This team looks legit.

It's nice to see Havlat back strong. The season opener is only about a week away. I can't wait!

Don't bank on that lasting long.

Since our baseball teams are about to come to a screeching halt, glad this season starts up this Friday to make for a very tiny bridge between seasons.

Corey Crawford was assigned to Rockford, and Kyle Beach and Akim Aliu were assigned to junior clubs. The roster stands at 28 now.

Really thought he'd get a shot as the backup to Huet. He did nothing but good things when he was in Chicago at the end of last season.

I've heard that the Niemi kid from Finland has been very impressive during the preseason. I'm guessing he will back up Huet.
