Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
Pau Gasol is being shopped aggressively for a combination of a C and a SF. Don't bother wasting your time with low ball offers.

Heat accept for pure roster ramifications in order to secure a future deal. I honestly can't say more than one sentence about this trade, so this'll be my second sentence, lol.

1. both gm's must write 2-3 sentences on why trade benefits your team and your direction (new rule)
want to curtail the need for vetoes and help in making a veto decision.
2. nets end up with more than 15 players.
remember, the rule voted for was that all rosters needed to be trimmed down to 15 either before their 1st trade or as a result of the 1st trade.
Nets do the trade since they save about $2.5 million in 2010/11 (the contracts of Dooling/Najera are only partially guaranteed) and around $4 mil in 09/10.
To fit under the roster limits, the Nets waive Ryan Bowen and Sean Marks.

Charlotte and Denver have a trade to announce
Charlotte Out/Denver In: Matt Carroll 5,050,000; David Lee 1,788,033; 2009 second round draft pick from San Antonio(The less favorable of San Antonio's own 2009 2nd round pick or New Orleans' own 2009 2nd round pick via Toronto to Charlotte [San Antonio - Charlotte, 2/13/2007]) = 6,838,033 x 1.25 = 8,547,541; so it works
Denver Out/Charlotte In: Steven Hunter 3,862,600; Chucky Atkins 3,240,000; 2009 first round draft pick from Charlotte (Charlotte’s own 2009 1st round pick to Denver (top 14 protected in 2009, top 12 protected in 2010, top 10 protected in 2011, top 8 protected in 2012, top 3 protected in 2013, and unprotected in the 2014 NBA Draft). [Charlotte-Denver, 6/25/2008]) = 7,102,600
Charlotte accepts and we do this trade to move Matt Carroll and his long contract and to bring back our 1st round draft pick that Denver owns of ours.

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
The Oklahoma City Thunder and The New York Knicks have agreed to a deal:
Thunder Trade:
Marko Jaric $6,575,000
Desmond Mason $5,300,000
Total: $11,875,000
Knicks Trade:
Ben Wallace $14,500,000
Total: $14,500,000
$11,875,000 x1.25 = $14,843,750 so it works.
Thunder Agree. Jaric was not wanted at all here and this frees up room for Kyle Weaver to get PT. Also get me a big man mentor for Saer Sene.

The Knicks waive Jemerio Davidson because we always spelled his name wrong and because of roster issues.
The Knicks approve this deal. I have really low expectations for what Wallace could provide for me so I moved him for some help in the backcourt. With Felton and Nate Robinson the only point guards with a realistic chance of playing significant for the team its nice to get some size to help them out in Jaric. Desmond Mason is a capable bench player at the worst and possibly a future trade chip.

Nuggets accept deal. Although Carroll does have a long term deal and the cats pick could be nice, the fact is the pick probably wouldnt have been received for a couple years and david lee is a great PF for the future.

Do I need to wait for this to be approved or are all cuts automatically done?

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
The Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks have agreed upon a trade, the Hawks will send Mike Dunleavy Jr, Roy Hibbert and an unprotected '09 1st to the Mavs for Josh Howard.
This deal clearly is a rare win/win situation for both parties IMO, the Hawks get a nice piece that will help them contend now, but at the same time J-HO is still fairly young, this also gives the Hawks some flexibility with potential future trades involving current Hawks players. The Pacers get a solid starter, a young prospect and a nice pick to build upon.

To confirm salaries:
Dallas outgoing/ Atlanta incoming:
Josh Howard- $9,945,000
Total: $9,945,000
Atlanta outgoing/ Dallas incoming:
Mike Dunleavy- $9,000,000
Roy Hibbert- $1,500,000
'09 1st round pick (unprotected)
Total: $10,500,000
$9,945,000 x 1.25= $12,431,250> $10,500,000
Dallas confirms this deal. This seems very fair value for an extremely talented yet troubled player. We are happy to get a return of a ever improving scorer in Dunleavy who is entering his prime, as well as the level headed defensive rookie Center in Hibbert. Hibbert will compliment our rebuiliding scheme, while Dunleavy will help keep us competitive. The addition of another 1st rounder is another well sought after asset for this franchise at this current time.
Dallas will now waive Gerald Green to make roster requirements.
