Lakers and Rockets have come to an agreement on a slightly smaller (yet still pretty huge) blockbuster:

Pau Gasol (15.106)
Chris Mihm (2.5)
for
Ron Artest (7.4)
Luis Scola (3.1)
Speedy Claxton (5.76)
2009 New Orleans 2nd

$17.606 for $16.26

16.26x1.25 = 20.325>17.606

Lakers Accept.

Ron Artest fills my need for a defensive SF and is going to play a huge role for this team down the stretch. Duncan/Artest/Kobe is the new (and better) big 3. Fisher/Scola are perfect smart basketball players to fill out the starting lineup and all that's needed now is a deeper bench. Claxton only has 2 years left on his deal, so taking him on isn't a huge liability when the team needs some depth at PG anyways.

San Antonio Spurs accept the Tim Duncan deal because it helps our youth movement. Andrew Bynum is a elite prospect, and one of the most promising young centers in the league today. He's also only 20. Add to that, a very good young point guard in Jordan Farmar, an expiring in Lamar Odom, and two other young players in Ariza and Yue (who can be very good for all we know), it's a great deal for us. Not to mention the first round pick we have acquired.

Houston Rockets accept. We are sad to lose the newly acquired Ron and Luis Scola but feel Gasol gives us the push on the court and in the locker room that we need to make the push for the finals. Mihm also helps back up the front court positions where we need him. We wish the very best for Ron and Scola. Claxton was a salary filler.

The Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards have reached an agreement, the Hawks will send Marvin Williams and an '09 second rounder to Washington for Brendan Haywood.

Haywood 5 500 000

Marvin Williams 5, 636, 142

Deal works.

This deal fills a need for the Hawks up front and this gives the Wizards another young piece to their core to help build around.

The Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets have finalized a deal that will send Joe Johnson, Nick Collison and Jamareo Davidson to the Rockets for Tracy McGrady, Chuck Hayes and Houston's '10 1st rounder.

Tracy McGrady $21,126,874
Chuck Hayes $1,933,750
'10 1st

$ 23 060 624

Joe Johnson $14,232,566
Nick Collison 6,350,000
Jermareo Davidson $711,517

21 294 083 x 1.25=26 717 603>23 060 624

This blockbuster helps the Hawks compete now in the East a llttle more, the Rockets get a little younger here with J.J, win/win deal for both sides.

The clippers do this deal because it gives them a viable option at SF/PF with CV. His inside outside game should compliment the post games Kaman and Camby well. Yes, he is had a relatively poor career so far, but we feel he could do well if played the right way. We're purely taking a chance on him, hopefully he works out.

Salaries work fine:

Nick Collison $6,350,000
Jermareo Davidson $711,517

Zaza Pachulia 4 000 000
Acie Law 2,071,680

it works 6 071 680 x 1.25 + 100 000=7 689 600>7 061 517

This trade helps both teams, the Thunder looking to get younger and the Hawks looking to add to their front court with a solid vet...

trade approved

and the big 4 team trade between the heat/bulls/magic/kings is rejected. unfortunately nelson is byc, so magic gm can't even absorb mikki moore, let alone moore + chalmers + bowen. let me know if i made a mistake on that.

The Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a trade

Dallas sends/Philly receives:

Roy Hibbert- $1,500,000
CLE 2012 2nd Round pick

Philly sends/ Dallas receives:

Marreese Speights- $1,542,600

As you can see the math works.

Dallas accepts this deal. We are sad to see the Enthusiastic Roy Hibbert leave, but feel as though Speights' energy will compliment the rebuild well. He should link up with Rose well and hope he develops into a real talent.

Philly accepts the deal. We value Speights alot and want him to have the opportunity to play in his rookie season and not being stuck behind brand/Evans. We also needed some Center depth and Shotblocking. Hibbert will have the opportunity to learn from one of the leagues best shotblockers in the past 10 years, Ratliff. We are excited to have him around.

Tracy is a dynamic player and we are sad to see him go, but Joe Johnson is capable of putting up similar numbers and is also younger. This trade puts are big three all about the same age, in their prime. With a nucleus of Yao,Gasol,Joe Johnson we feel like we have a team that will work well together on and off the floor.

The Spurs and Grizzlies have agreed to a deal:

Spurs trade/Grizzlies recieve
Ian Mahinmi -- $841,000
Roger Mason -- $3,500,000
2009 Houston 2nd

$4,341,000 * 1.25 = $5,426,250 + $100,000 = $5,526,250

Grizzlies trade/Spurs recieve:
Javaris Crittenton -- $1,381,560
Greg Buckner -- $4,010,005

$5,391,565

Why for Memphis: This trade gives me more cap flexibility after losing Buckner's contract, and $1,000,000 in salary. But that is not why I would conduct this trade--even though it will be ridding me of my last "bad" contract...No, the reson I am conducting this trade is because

A) I have a log-jam at point guard with Crittenton, Lowry, and Conley. One needed to go, and Critt was the weakest link.

B) Mason is the shooter I need off the bench. He has the ability to hit the open three, a skill which after the Mike Miller trade was sorely missed.

C) Mayo does not have a backup that actually plays shooting guard as their true position--enter Mason.

D) I think that Mahimni is going to pan out and be a very good power forward. He has all of the makings of a great up-tempo power forward--he has a mobile frame, is athletic, blocks shots,, has great work ethic, and is extremely quick in the post.

E) I do not have a second round pick this year. While the Houston pick will be low, it is better than nothing. Every once in a while a good player slips low in the draft (see Manu Ginobili), and becuase of the nature of the late second round--GM's are more apt to make a creative pick...After all, it can't hurt.

I accept this deal because Roger Mason did not have any real place on this team, now that I'm rebuilding. Also, I like that Buckner is an expiring (last two years are not guarnateed), and that I get a good young point guard in Jarvaris Crittenton. I have faith in him, and believe he can be very good, and with a team rebuilding he certainly will have the time to develop.

The Knicks and Oklahoma Thunder have completed another deal.

The Knicks send
Danilo Gallinari $2,873,520

The Thunder send
Jeff Green $3,284,640

It hurts to lose Gallinari but I don't trust Euro players. He's a young, foreigner so he can get away with that potential tag for years without showing anything. Green is not a sure thing either by any means but he's a risk I am more comfortable taking. He's got great potential himself.

The Thunder agree. I just want to surround talent around Durant right now. This gives me a great offensive weapon to go beside Durant. I want to right now creat a new run and gun system here.

The Orlando Magic accept this deal. The Magic are sad to see Hedo leave but are unwilling to pay him the money hey may demand in the off season. Instead we have decided to use the money we will be saving to pursue other options. Leandro Barbosa also gives us a change of pace combo guard who should be able to pick up the scoring lost by this trade.
