Is this just the chance that C.J. Miles needs to gain regular minutes in the rotation? How about this depth chart (barring injury or trade):
PG: Deron Williams, Ronnie Price, Brevin Knight
SG: Ronnie Brewer, Kyle Korver, Morris Almond
SF: Andrei Kirilenko, C.J. Miles, Matt Harpring
PF: Carlos Boozer, Paul Millsap, Jarron Collins
C: Mehmet Okur, Kosta Koufos, Kyrylo Fesenko
Goodness gracious that is a deep team. And man am I impressed with Ronnie Brewer. He is now 6'7" and 235 pounds. He now has the bulk to guard small forwards while Kirilenko can guard the shooting guards.

Re: With Harpring missing training camp...
I'd say CJ definitely is ahead of Matt in the depth chart for now. I'm not sure how long his rehab is going to be but it sounds like it could take him a while to get back into game shape after such a bad infection--reports say for a while he was on crutches and couldn't even walk on it for a while.
Also, if shamsports is correct--they list Matt's $6.5 mill next season as non-guaranteed. If he is out very much or ineffective when he is back for very long this could be the last season we see Matt Harpring in a Jazz uniform. Matt could be waived in the offseason with no cap hit so his $6.5 mill would be off the cap number when they will need to be resigning some big names.

If its not guaranteed it will have to be for specific reasons, I dont think its not guaranteed no matter what. However, I do know that there are stipulations that would make Harpring lose a significant amount of money and bring down his cap number by half or more if he misses a certain amount of games this season.

You know.. honestly, I was drolling at Houston's depth.. but we honestly aren't that bad behind. We have built our depth, We essentially have all of those players in our core already for 3 years, and they have more or less show improvement... This could seriously be the 2nd or 3rd best chance Utah ever gets to win a championship.. MJ is gone.

I was looking at an interview with Harpring yesterday on the News and he is really skinny, you can tell he hasn't been in the gym for a while, it is going to take him longer then just being cleared by a doctor to be game ready.

I am still hoping for a Harpring medical retirement.

Harp's going to be out for a while. I too noticed that he looks slimmer and less defined. As a gym rat myself, I know how frustrating that can be.
CJ will get yet another chance. Hopefully he can deliver this time.

He'll be considering retirement soon. But I want Harp to stick with the Jazz maybe as an special assistant or something like that.

Re: With Harpring missing training camp...
I've been a huge CJ fan for a while now and am looking forward to seeing him get the minutes he's earned.
But at the same time, a few of us would be lying if we said we wouldn't miss Harpring's toughness and his ability to get under other player's skin... players like Ron Artest. With Booze and Okur manning the frontline, we can't afford to get much softer.
CJ better be as good as I think he is.

Millsap is just going to have to be that punk ass off the bench who every opposing team hates.
