I agree with there's more to the season then wins and loss's. I much rather us finish with a pick in the teens and our young guys really show big time improvement. Than us getting a top three pick and our young guys not developing. With that said my prediction is also 15-25 by all star break.

I really think the Nets will play .500 ball for the bulk of the season. Unless they trade Vince Carter early on. The Nets don't have a great "big 3" like they used to but Vince Carter hasn't fallen off yet, Devin Harris is a very good young PG, and the team has an insane amount of depth up front.
If Bobby Simmons can just put together his career averages* as his numbers for this season, the Nets could suprise (Naturally, quite a bit else would still need to happen).
*26 minutes, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 44 Fg%, 39 3pt%, 83FT%.
The Net that needs to step up is Keyon Dooling. 1 assist per 10 minutes (roughly) for your career doesn't cut it as a PG.

That's gonna have to cut it.
He was never and will never be a passing point guard, or for all reasons and purposes even a point guard period.
He is a scoring guard, or a "combo guard", which really means a shooting guard that never grew enough to play shooting guard for a lot of minutes past the college level.
And not a great passing shooting guard at that.
We knew what he was before we traded for him, so I wouldn't expect what you're hoping for.
He is a decent defender and a spark plug. Some nice instant offense.
Personally I was never big on the guy, but it isn't a bad thing having him, he is a positive and is not one of those guys that is going to really cause any problems.
He'll contribute.

I do believe we have talent enough to be a playoff team in the east, and having Harris playing with carter from the get go should help chemistry tremendously, but i don't think we will have a fast start.
I'm thinking VC will have a vintage season though,i'm very eager to see him playing.

Less than 4 weeks to go for the season to start. Boone, S.Will, Yi and Devin stand out as the players I want to see the most...
Here's to boone averaging a double double this year

Are all better than us....No we're not a playoffs team. The 15-25 prediction seems right...
A few things about this post
Washington is in no way, shape or form better than the Nets. Not with Arenas, Jamison and even Haywood missing significant time. Atlanta is more talented, but that team is too unreliable, you just never know with them. I'd probably say the Nets are better than Milwaukee, at least we have more depth.
As for the Nets, I expect them to be 2 to 5 games over .500 and firmly in the playoff race. Vince will make the all star team this year. Harris might have a shot too.

Re: Where will we be by the All-Star break?
Honestly, I hope we don't win 25 games all season.
Let's go 22-60 and get a good draft pick.
We're not winning a playoff series this year, time to continue our rebuilding project - rearm and reload for the FA class of 2010.
The best we can hope for this season is the development of our young core and the addition to it via a sweet draft slot.
