From the Wiretap...

McKie To Rejoin Sixers' Coaching Staff
Sep 27, 2008 7:56 PM EST
Aaron McKie, who left Sixers organization in a coaching capacity to become a member of the Memphis Grizzlies via a sign and trade that brought Pau Gasol to the Lakers, is back with in Philadelphia as an assistant coach, Phil Jasner of the Philadelphia Daily News is reporting.

McKie's status apparently was placed on hold when he was arrested in June on charges that he had lied on application forms to purchase a gun in Pennsylvania in April. Brian McMonagle, his attorney, called it "an honest mistake." McKie received probation in the case.

For the Sixers, hopefully this contract is better than the last.

I always thought McKie would make a solid coach one day. Still think that. In fact, a number of guys from that 2001 Finals team could end up in coaching one day, including Eric Snow and Kevin Ollie.

I could see Raja Bell and Mutombo being assistants somewhere as well. Wouldn't it be funny if Mutombo was a head coach? I'd love to see him argue with the refs and give post game interviews.

Can't see Mutombo. He's got too much money and way too many interests, including his philanthropic work in Africa, to be involved with basketball after his career. He wants to go to med school as well.

Raja Bell perhaps. He still has a few years left, but he could be a coach one day. He seems like a guy who wants to retire back to the islands though.

I can see Tyrone Hill as well. Maybe even George Lynch. I'm surprised Todd MacCulloch isn't coaching somewhere already (unless he is).
