Favorite Place to watch a Jazz game?
I went to the Scrimmage the other day, and it made me remember why I hate going to see the Jazz play in person. I can't stand sitting in front of some uneducated fan who brings his little kids who just run around the whole game, and he tries to teach them things about the Jazz even though he has no idea what he's talking about.
This guy behind me seriously kept calling Mehmet Okur Turkey Boy last night and I seriously almost turned around and jacked him. I hate listening to ignorant people just rant and rave about the Jazz all night. (No Offense if that was you or your father or someone of some relation, it just really bugged me.)
So it got me to thinking, where is your favorite place to watch a Jazz game. I love sitting at home, being able to eat or drink whatever I want, talk to my family, use the bathroom at my own pleasure and watch the game on TV. I don't have to find parking or walk a long way to the arena in the freezing Salt Lake air to avoid paying $8 parking lot fee's.
So where do prefer to watch the games?

I like to DVR the games and skip listening to commercials and the lame Jazz media guys.
Watching it at the DC is preferred, but only with lower bowl.

I sat behind older, not interested in bball, but had money drunk people against Denver last yr and they kept saying Ed-ward-o Na-ha-ra...WTF?
With all the games on TV I like sitting at home watching the game and chattin here during the game. I like going out to restaurants or bars for big games or the playoffs.

100% agree. I enjoy the bar on big games, but for day in day out game I would much rather not make a huge deal out of it. Just sit at home and chat on Realgm during the game.
And like Erudite said, if I can get a good seat in the lower bowl I will definitely go to the game, usually with those people they spent a little money on the game so they want to enjoy it a bit more, or they aren't very interested in the game and just got some tickets from their work or something.
I just despise sitting next to people who consistently complain about wanting to move Boozer for like Zach Randolph or some **** and keep talking about how Sloan could whip him into shape. Lord.

Since I'm still in school I like to watch them at home the most, I love going to games but they end too **** late.
During the playoffs when school's out then it's definitely the ESA.

My seats are the 9th row behind the Jazz' bench so I like going to the games too.

Since I don't have cable anymore, I damn well better start enjoying watching at bars.
Just kidding, I already do enjoy watching at bars. I like Lumpy's for big games and Davansas on foothill for regular season (perhaps because half of the staff are friends of mine...).
The only thing I don't like is going out to a bar with people who don't care about the game and just yap yap yap while you're trying to watch. I'd rather go alone. Which I will be doing this season constantly.

Well, for me who lives in Brazil, have gone to the Delta Center watching them ALIVE! was the most incredible sports experience I ve ever had.
Watching at home (when the cable here decides to show a Jazz game (which is very unusual), is cool as well, but not even close).
Watching in a bar, surrounded by Jazz fans should be nice. May be one day.
Regards,

Favorite place to watch Jazz games?
For road games, especially when the National Media is covering the game is to go out to a restaurant/bar and yell with other Jazz fans. I would almost prefer all the Nationally covered games to be on the road, I like hearing what TNT and ESPN/ABC has to say about Utah. Reason I would prefer the ESPN, TNT, ABC games to be on the road is because my favorite place to watch home games is at the arena.
You can't beat the atmosphere inside the ESA, our crowd gets up for the Jazz every night. You could say it's almost playoff atmosphere all season long. I remember opening night my buddy and I were standing up in our seats cheering and what have you and some people behind us were like, "Geez, sit down it's only the first game of the season". I hate it when you have to sit by those kind of fans, or worse Laker fans when the Jazz are losing to them............anyways my buddy and I just keep standing, keep heckling, keep cheering; there's a reason ESA is the most intimidating place to play in the NBA and the fans are the reason why. FYI if you sit in section 112 of the arena and I'm being to crude or loud and obnoxious for you I suggest you pound a few beers and join me!
GO JAZZ!

Re: Favorite Place to watch a Jazz game?
nothing beats a jazz game at energy solutions. if you are able to hear the person behind/in front of you, then youre doing it wrong. get loud and raise hell and make it so that any person who is not a big time jazz fan thinks twice before just showing up to a game. Its all about making the arena the most uncomfortable place for any non-jazz fan.

Make that two.
I completely agree with Deniz. Since we get to watch about 2 or 3 regular season games at the most on TV every season, we can't really choose. Any chance we get is a great one.
Like Deniz, I spent some time in Utah and I had the chance to go to the ESA 3 times. It was **** awesome. I literally had tears in my eyes when I entered the building. I had upper bowl tickets and they were terrible seats, but it was still amazing, although I thought people were a little too quiet.
I can understand that, just like anywhere else, watching games or even going out to a public place has its problems (finding a parking spot, having to deal with lines, drunk and ignorant people around and so on), but if I lived in SLC, I'm pretty sure I'd try to see the Jazz live as much as possible. It's really a great experience.

Row 1. Its simply amazing.
Honorable mention: My soon-to-be new 46-inch Samsung 1080p HD with surround sound setup and NBA league pass. Should be all ready to go for the start of the season. Been saving up all summer for it!

For those who can't watch the games because they live in different countries and their local cable providers don't show them.
You might not feel like such a "stooge" if you had a better "tv." Or maybe you could just google some of the previously posted words in quotations and you might be able to find some help with that...

I have season tickets and last year I had really cool people around me EXCEPT for one guy. He brought a friend with him to a game and he was telling his friend " Deron WIlliams is good and all but the Jazz were stupid for not drafting Lebron James instead"
(since Lebron was drafted in a different year and if they were in the same draft class Lebron was taken #1) but anyways other then that guy its was fine (just exclude Laker fans that went to the games)

Some how I am a magnet for those fans every game I go to. It's seriously ridiculous.

Re: Favorite Place to watch a Jazz game?
i got a state of the art home theater that me and my dad put together for about $8,000, with a 58" plasma 1080p, onkyo/elemental design 7.1 system with large shelf speakers. The sub is about 135 lbs itself. I really can't get a better experience watching a basketball game in person unless I'm in a $60 seat. Living in Miami though, I ignore the Heat for the most part, and since Utah comes down only once a year, I try my very best to make it.
