I live in Parma and like it. They're right when they say schools aren't as good as other neighboring cities, but they have several Parochial schools that are pretty good. People are pretty good and taxes are cheap. Case is a bit of a drive- about 30 minutes but it seems a lot quicker than it is.. If you're into running or biking (like myself) you can jump on Big Creek Parkway and take it to connecting parkways for as long as you want to ride. Just my 2 cents about Parma.

We've got a friend who makes the drive up every weekday to Case and it's more like an hour or an hour and 15 minutes in the mornings. About 35-40 minutes outside of rush hour.

That's usually when i make the drive.. and i live about 2 min or less from 480... so it probably cuts down on time a lot.

If you are only worried about driving on Saturdays than that should drastically cut down your commute time. Traffic really isnt that bad on the weekends, or any other time other than rush hour or when a big event is going on honestly.

Even rush hour isn't that bad compared to other comparable sized cities. There are just so many highways/major roads throughout the city that get you from A to B that traffic just evenly spreads out. In about 2 months, I have yet to sit in traffic in Cleveland. It might slow down, but it never really seems to stop.

That is something unique about Cleveland. Traffic if never really that heavy because most people aren't really headed to the downtown area to work and there are just loads of different ways to get most anywhere in the city.

They have to be, if they didn't do a good job cleaning the streets Cleveland would have to shut down every winter.

When my wife was in grad school at Case we lived in both Eatlake and then Aurora. Eastlake was a real easy commute and a pretty cheap place to live. Good safe community with lots of good rec programs at that time. Aurora is difficult to navigate from and extraordinarily expensive--several of my neighbors were Browns and Indians.

My sister lives in Avon Lake (west of Lakewood) and she and her hubby both commute around Cleveland. Real nice community, vibrant young people.
