In regards to whether Samuel Dalembert can be an all-star. It depends on what he means. He can def be a reserve. Because in all honesty, Bogut sucks. I mean really. His 14/10 average is well, average. If he wants to be a starter. Then he's gonna have to have a huge blocking or scoring season. That would justify the move to Dwight Howard at PF(I believe he's a natural forward anyway, not a center. A Center to me is a guy like Shaq(In Prime). Or Mutombo or Ratliff. In their primes, they were true centers. Howard's just a 6'11 forward that can play the 5 in a mediocre east(center wise).

This is what everyone is talking about. You start your post by inferring that Dalembert can definitely be a reserve, yet you only support your argument by pointing out that Bogut's 14 and 10 "average" numbers won't be good enough to warrant an all-star appearance, while completely ignoring that Dalembert hasn't been able to put up the same numbers throughout his career (which has been longer than Bogut's). Then you go off track and argue as to whether or not Dwight Howard is a true center, which is pretty much irrelevant. You need to either become less sensitive to criticism or put more thought into what you write.

Iggy is likely a starter, I am not debating that. I am debating my stance that it's not money. It's whom the coach(I) feels like the best way to win games.

Two things:
1) You did debate whether Iggy is the starter. right from your quote:

Obviously Mo wanted to look into the shooter and defender that Rush is. Yes, it's very possible that he starts over Willie Green or Thaddeus Young. Or even, yes Iguodala.

2) Our stance is the front office (with the coach giving his opinion) wouldn't have paid the man $80 million just two months ago if they didn't feel he could beat a minimum salary scrub who just two years ago didn't play in the nba. Yes, it's possible things change, but there's no way a guy goes from being deemed worth $80 million to not being able to beat out a career journeyman through training camp.

Sixers make first cuts

The Sixers trimmed their roster down to 16 heading into the preseason opener on Wednesday night against the NBA champion Boston Celtics in Amherst, Mass.

The team waived Strawberry Mansion product Maureece Rice, Andre Emmett and Cory Underwood. That means Temple product Antwyane Robinson has survived the first cuts.

Here is some background on the players who were waived, via a Sixers press release:

Emmett (6-4, 216) was originally selected with the 35th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by Seattle. He appeared in eight games for the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2004-05 season. Last season, Emmett averaged a league-high 23.9 points per game for Belgacom Liege Basket of the Belgian League. He played four seasons for Texas Tech, and finished career as the Red Raiders all-time leader in scoring with 2,256 points.

Rice (6-1, 224) is best known for his career at Strawberry Mansion High School, during which he tallied 2,681 points, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain’s Philadelphia school record of 2,206 points. Rice went on to attend The George Washington University, where he was named Atlantic 10 Sixth Man of the Year as a sophomore and A-10 All-Conference Third Team as a junior. He was not selected in the NBA Draft this past June.

Underwood (6-10, 240) played for the Albuquerque Thunderbirds of the NBA Development League last season. Since finishing his career at Southern University of New Orleans in 2003, he has also played in the ABA (American Basketball Association), the USBL (United States Basketball League), WBA (World Basketball Association), CBA (Continental Basketball Association) as well as leagues in both Brazil and Poland.

The TV guide listing has a repeat showing of Meet the Flyers on at 7pm tomorrow instead of the Sixers game, followed by Best Damn Top 50 and Knockouts. Who's feeling the love for the Sixers?
