Shaq: Kobe is "one of the greatest players ever"

I think he is sincere here, although since its Shaq Im never sure.

You can call him whatever...but you can't deny that he's entertaining.

He talks about how he and Kobe should've feuded even more since they won 3 out of 4. He said he would go back and do that and probably win 4 or 5. He also called him and Kobe the "greatest 1-2 punch" duo.

Thanks for posting that. If he wants a fifth ring, he'd better mess up in Phoenix and come back to LA for the vets min in a hurry.

it looks like he has matured, but with shaq you can never tell.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Man I keep trying to hate Shaq, but I can't. He's just a big goof ball. Seeing this reminded me he's never really serious and shouldn't be taken that way. He is always deadpan.

But what he said about Kobe and Phil makes a lot of sense. To me it never really added up why the Lakers let that go on as long as it did...I had a suspicion that it was all a farce (with Shaq and Kobe in on it). I guess maybe it was, only the players didn't realize they were being mindtricked by Phil and the media.

Must be the only way to really motivate Shaq, the original Superman. (BTW anyone else annoyed that Dwight is stealing that nickname and is on the Magic? I don't know seems sort of lame to me, he's a wanna be).

Awesome interview. thanks for the post.

It's kew that he contaced kobe after that bad rap he made of him. .. saying "mah bad when he called kobe." (referencing The 8 mile movie)

I wouldn't mine seeing Shaq in a Lakers uniform for one last run.. hehe.

yep! There's only one Superman and D12 is not that guy. I remember last season when Kwame was pushing him around in the paint. Shaq was immovable, superhuman strength right there. :D

If Shaq decides he wants to extend his playing career and sign for the minimum, I wouldn't mind if he played for the Lakers again.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Shaq's plan was to hop on the Lakers bandwagon so Kobe won't end up having more titles.

Nope. In my mind, Shaq has burned all bridges and favoritism here in LA with the fans and the organization. He referred to us as the "evil empire." Admitted to starting fights with Kobe. Always came to camp fat and out of shape. Wouldn't play defense or grab rebounds if he didn't get the ball on offense. He's the biggest EMO chump ever. Had no respect for Buss after all he did for him. Shaq feels that he's God's gift to the world and everyone should bend over backwards for him and that's just not the case. He needs to stay far far far away from this franchise and organization for the rest of what's left of his so called career. And he better fake an injury to protect his ego when Bynum decides to steam role him when we play them this year.

To me at least, I still support Shaq. IMO, I think that Shaq wanted to retire as a Laker from the way he's been acting the past few years. He's been bitter this whole time because of that, and he took it out on Kobe at first, but now realizes it was the Lakers Org.

I don't blame Shaq at all for the way he's acted over the years. It's kind of like being in a relationship; you put your all into something for this one girl hoping they would do the same in return. And in the end, even though you did your best and stayed faithful, the other person didn't and chose the other guy instead of you. Hahha, hope that was a good example.

'He had no respect for Buss after all he did for him..' - you have no respect for Shaq. The man carried the team, CARRIED THE TEAM to 3 championships as the Finals mvp 3 years in a row. You know who else has done that for the Lakers?... yes, that's right, NOBODY. How are you dissing Shaq about anything? This man gave you life. He can say what the hell he wants to say.

The only thing bigger than Shaq is Shaq's ego.

If he doesn't win a ring in Phoenix or if the Suns continue to go downhill with him on their roster, he will sign with a championship contender for the opportunity to go out on top. But I doubt that he would ever consider coming off the bench behind Bynum.

Don't rule out Boston though...

That was good on Shaq's part. It's time to put all that childish stupid stuff behind & call it real. They were the best 1-2 punch in the game it's too bad ego's had to get in the way but it worked out for us because we have recovered from losing Shaq in a big way

Now he'd royaly piss me off going to the much HATED Celtics. I'd rather see him leechanother ring with us coming off the bench behind Drew than see himin that awful Green YUK
