Sportingnews.com RealGM League

Post#1 » by CPT » Thu Sep 25, 2008 2:57 pm

Hey guys, if anyone is interested in playing TheSportingNews.com's free game, I've made a RealGM League. It's the basic game, so you can't buy any trades.

If that poster who linked us up with teams for the pay game is around this year, that would be even better, but if not, the free game can still be fun. Something a little bit different from the usual draft and roto scoring leagues.

League Name: RealGM
Password: basketball

Hope to see some great managers in there.

Nice, I just joined. Last years league was great fun, if people haven't tried sportingnews' fantasy game its definitely worth a shot. As CPT said, its different when compared to the typical h-h/roto leagues, but in my opinion, its just as time consuming and equally satisfying.

Guys, I actually run the SportingNews Hoops game, if your interested, I can set up and Ultimate league for you for free.

You can't win prizes but the Ultimate league has more roster spots and a higher cap. The market is a little bit more ahead of the curve.

Best,
Chris

Hey Chris, I was wondering when you were going to show up. I'd definitely be down for another ultimate fantasy league...

You may want to start a new thread advertising it though. I don't think people really enjoy the regular too much, even though I don't mind it.

Btw, I remember you said that you don't win any prizes last year, but I thought that we would at least get trophies or those certificates, as I recall you mentionining something about that.

Yeah, I'd be down for the Ultimate Game again, that was sweet.

Gotta defend my crown!

(Actually, gotta defend my non-existant trophy....hook a brother up! ;))

Hey all,

Not sure about trophies -- it could be fully purchased leagues don't get trophies (which seems strange to me). I'll look into it, but my gut tells me you should have got a trophy.

I'll set up another thread, and if you have friends that want to join please send me all the email addresses and I'll set up a league to accommodate them as well.

Best,
Chris

You can join any time, see the first post for league id/password...

That league is going to shut down soon though...

Everyone is going to be invited to the new league when it is created.

A sportingnews employee is going to allow us to play the Ultimate league for free, without the cash prizes. We did the same thing last year. But sure go ahead and sign up, switch when the ultimate league is up. It should be in about a week or so...

Chris, just wondering when you're going to start that new thread, and invite us to the ultimate league. Did you find out about the trophies?

I'll promote the league on your new thread once its created. Is it cool if we include all the email addresses including mine and CPT's in that thread? You can just copy and paste from there.

I'd love to join the ultimate league if a spot is still available.

Here is a link to the free Ultimate league. I've invited people on the Knicks board as well because that's my immediate community here.

Feel free to pass this along to any message board as I've hacked the team limit to be in the hundreds. May decrease load time on the main page and standings pages if we fill it but should make for a better league.

I didn't get to look into the trophies because of my crazy hockey schedule. I'll def look int to it on Monday.

Best,
Chris

Hey Chris, thanks so much for doing this again. Really appreciate it. Did you compete last year, I'm not sure... I saw a team of yours there, but I was wondering if it was just for testing purposes. You should join the league this year, if you already haven't haha...

Thanks for working on the trophies as well... :D

It looks like a good number of active teams to start the ultimate game.
The more the better and hope everyone makes it through the season.
Best wishes to a successful season to all.
