Any interest in Wright?

Seems like Randolph has passed Wright for PT with Don Nelson. Is there any interest on our part in trying to grab him for our PF position? Might be a lot cheaper to get him now. Just a thought on tweeking our team before things get started this season.

Depends entirely on the trade. The Warriors and Bobcats have only one real main need, and thats frontcourt help. I mean the main thing the Bobcats can offer, wings, is the main thing the Warriors have.

We always have a bunch of second round picks. It depends on how much he would benefit us. I'm not sure how helpful he will be. But I would rather stick with Davidson and Ajinça, they already went through LB's training camp, at least until someone convince me Wright would be a smart addition. I would trade Hollins that's for sure. I'm not really fan of an idea to bring another underweight big man to Charlotte.

No matter what I hope Warriros will get much of him, because I would feel bad for them if the trade would turn out to be lopsided to our favor, they are like brothers to us here at realGM. So far we get Jason Richardson, not only a scorer and shooter but also an improvement to our chemistry and (draft rights to) JerMareo Davidson, who is a promising prospect regarding he was a second round pick. They've got Wright.

I'm with doc. End of the day it boils down to Wright Vs Lex to me, and at this stage I think I would rather go with Lex - because he seems to have a much better shooting touch, which is something we could use at the 4 next to EO50 at the 5 (in saying that, I have never seen Lex play so I reserve the right to change my stance and want Wright!!)

I'd give both of them up for Randolph though!!

That's just what we need here, another Tarheel. This team has enough PR issues as it is.

Wright could be another underachieving Tarheel or a late bloomer. But I'd trade Ammo for him in a heartbeat if given the chance (I know it doesn't work straight up but some creative throw ins are bound to work).

I'm concerned Morrison will never succeed here, and may not have a decent NBA career with any team. He is (by various eyewitness accounts this training camp) struggling with his shot, terrible on defense and looking completely uninspired. Nellie has a fondness for shooters (or those with reputations) so why not adopt one puppy and get rid of another?

Brandan reminds me of another Tarheel that left far too early...Marvin Williams. While I see a real chance for Williams to get some bloom on his rose, Wright is still working to get decent. Wright could grow into the role or be a bomb, but we'd have another 3 years to find out. If Ammo plays as poorly as his early returns we might not be able to trade him for a box of cracker jacks. Yikes! Let's hope he produces in the pre-season and raises his trade value.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

And here comes my first use of my rights!!

If the cost was only Ammo for Wright and what ever scrub/combintaion of scrub filler they wanted to throw at us then I would be all over it.

Then I'd let him, Lex, Davidson and McMay duke it out.

I think with all his "promise", even tho he is another Tarheel, he'd be worth the gamble for Ammo. I mean, we got Jason Richardson and Jermareo for him, which is now looking like a steal. If we stole him back and he reached anywhere near his potential, it could be an awesome set of circumstances for us. Just a thought, since I brought this up a few months ago, and now it looks like he's going to be riding the pine the entire season.

Given the way we looked against Orlando tonight, with limited scoring from the PF position and even less Defense there, is a Wright deal looking more enticing? Perhaps for Ammo? It is for me, but I know some will say otherwise. But what we have will kill us. Ajinca and Jermareo are clearly not ready for major minutes yet.

How could anyone not like the idea of trading for Wright or just about any other young power forward.

Heck I'm kind of annoyed that Nick Fazekas is trying out for Denver and not Charlotte. I still watch the waiver wire, just hoping that someone intriguing will suddenly become avaialble. And wondering if a guy like Michael Doleac or Jake Voshkul won't be a bad 10th-12th man signing on the cheap.

Sad isn't it?

Wright wouldn't help in those two cats just yet.

1. He has a very limited offensive game
3. Howard would have eaten him up
2. He's no more ready for major mins than Lex or Daivdson are

In saying that, I'll still trade Ammo for him!!

I realize Wright has some learning to do still. But I see a lot of potential. And I brought this up only because May, Ajinca and Davidson just wont fill the PF void we have. And that will kill us this season. And I brought up Wright only because he has lost time to the Rookie and will likely be expedable under Nellie's game plan. If we got him for someone like Ammo, or Ajinca, or any other bench player, it will be a steal. J-Rich, Davidson and Wright for a bench player? That would be the biggest steal since the Lakers stole Gasol from Memphis.

Have you ever heard about Camby being in LA?

My point is that Wright is no more the answer to our PF woes this season than McMay, Lex or Davidson are.

And don't forget the mountains of cap space we gave up to land Swish. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change a thing, but we didn't get Swish and Davidson for free.

Just a quick chime-in from a W's fan.

We still do have really high hopes for Wright, it's not like Randolph's drafting has made us move on. We're projecting that AR will probably play SF, where he can utilize his quickness/ball handling/passing skills better then at PF. Wright still projects to be our PF of the future, with Biedrins at C. It's a lot of skinny lefties for one front line, but if AR and Wright reach up to their potential they could compliment each other really well.

The only guy I could really see us being willing to deal Wright for would be Okafor, and that clearly isn't happening if you guys are thinking along the lines of an Ammo for Wright deal...

So yeah, Wright will probably remain a Warrior for the foreseeable future. Glad you guys like JRich (or Swish?) though, he was always one of my favorite Warriors and is probably my favorite non-Warrior in the L right now.

Warriors still will try him for at least one year.

Wright's been playing pretty well lately. He's a work in progress on offense, but he has shown improvement, and is a much needed interior defender and rebounder, so it's not likely the Warriors are looking to move him. Randolph can initiate his offense from the perimeter, so there is no reason they can't play together. By the end of the year, I expect you will see them out there at the same time for substantial periods.
