All the goalies last night sucked. Huet made some nice saves, but let in 2 really bad goals. Jose Theodore and Brent Johnson let in a combined 7 goals against a bad Thrashers team that has no business scoring 7 goals in three total games. So, we'll see who's in goal tonight.

WEFFPIM's Tidbits - Blackhawks Version
-A less than stellar opening for the Hawks last night. Apparently they saw all the AIG logos sprawled across Madison Square Garden and began to worry about their future retirement.
-If you didn't think that goal song the Rangers play was annoying enough, the Capitals get a police siren whenever they score. What a brilliant move, dopes, particularly in Washington where crime whens rampant like a chicken with his head cut off.
-Seriously, 7 goals against Atlanta? Give 6 golden retrievers skates and shove a stick in their mouth, they could hold them to 5, and be a lot more exciting to watch.
-Alexander Ovechkin and Niklas Backstrom vs. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. A battle of two young duos that make me question my lame ass existence and wonder why I haven't done anything substantial with my life.
-I'll give Pat Foley a B- for last night. Was good, but fumbled with names. I couldn't have done any better, but that's what I do, I sit at my computer and judge other people's shortcomings. You hear that, Byfuglien? If you don't man up and hit someone tonight, you're dead to me.
-WE"RE EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. PLEASE STAY TUNED TO COMCAST SPORTSNET.
-Is Eddie Olcyzk 14? Has he aged, ever? Good Lord.
-Hey...Blackhawks. Stop playing like you have hollow bones and knock someone on their ass. Except for you, Marty. You just...be fragile.

Good Luck...and Go Blackhawks

Just got back from the Northwestern game. Was listening to some of this on the radio. Sounds like a good game so far.

Maybe the rest of the NHL did us a favor by picking up Khabi. He looks really good tonight. Better than Huet at least.

Look at that...a turnover costs us a game.

What a sloppy, piece of crap performance for the final two periods. The defense was wretched and the offense not much better.

The 0-2-0 Hawks will be walking the red carpet on Monday before the home opener:

The Rangers and Capitals are 2 good teams so I'm not worried yet.

I'm slightly concerned at the defense. I mean, they couldn't even clear pucks without falling over. This was another game where the Hawks were outmatched physically. Edzo pointed out one instance in which Havlat was in position to check a Cap and instead just skated on by and went to the bench.

And Dustin Byfuglien is 250 friggin' pounds, how about you use that weight and run into someone? Hell, you don't even have to try, just let kinetic energy do its work and it'll have the same result.

Damn... I just made a damn good, kick-ass assessment of the first 2 games but it didn't make it all the way thru onto the RealGM system...

I'll just summarize quckly...Khabi looked solid...

It sucks being 0-2 but we are primed to rebound...and do some damage...

Bring on the Preds...

BTW...I just locked into the NHL CENTER ICE PACKAGE offered by my cable company up here in Lake Geneva so I am good to go for catching as many Hawks games as I can...

Looking forward to joining your forum for the season...for all your insights and shared enthusiasm...

The Blackhawks looked especially overmatched in the third period. They had trouble just controlling possession of the puck at times.
