I believe that it is a foregone conclusion that the NBA will expand again, and fairly soon. The question is where?
I know Stern likes the idea of expanding to Europe but the travel would be terrible and would be a huge radical change having a team out over there.
Theres still some good U.S markets left. St. Louis, where they have the Edward Jones Dome. Brookyln, where they tried to get the Nets. Louisville, where fan support would be amazing. Las Vegas has a NBA ready arena but after past problems...I.E All Star week 2007.
Seattle could get a team back and retain the Sonic logos and colors as well as their history. Much like the Cleveland Browns did with the whole Baltimore Ravens situation. Maybe relations between the league and NBA have just over soured too much.
Any other cities?

I'm not persuaded that an expansion is coming, and think a foregone conclusion in that direction is rash.
I'd see a relocation as far more likely.
Sea, SL, and SD are the 3 biggest population centers currently without a team.

I'm not convinced that expansion is coming soon - and I'm certainly not convinced that it would be a good move for the league at this time.
Las Vegas does not have an NBA-ready facility, although there are plans to build one. But that would be several years down the line, if and when it gets built.
Kansas City has a great new arena and no team. Could they support a team?
I'm betting that Clay Bennett would vote "yes" on a new team in Seattle.
Didn't I read over the weekend that some Anaheim city official predicted that the city would have an NBA franchise in 5 years?

Future expansion? Doubt it. Future relocation? Possibly.

Re: NBA Future Expansion?
The talent level in the NBA is so diluted now that even David Stern can see that expansion would be a bad idea. With Europe taking some of the mid-level players now, the gap between the stars and role players is becoming more pronounced.
Now franchises moving that's a different matter. There'll be one for sure and probably two in the next 10 years
