To me the main culprit, the scariest institution, and the group that really is the illuminati is: The Fr3d R3s3rve

If you guys research them, you'll find out:
A- they are not federal. The name is an outright lie. It's a private org that does not care about our best interests.
B- they just robbed our bank accounts with all this nonsense. Creating that kind of new money in the system is just like stealing from us because it makes each dollar worth less.
C- they are surprisingly cloaked in mystery.

Basically, you don't need to be a conspiracy theorists to be paranoid of the Fed.

well brought in the fish from the ponds today, and got them in an aquarium, as opposed to the stock tank we usually have them in, so we can see them better

As a guy who majored in finance and is currently working on his MBA in finance I have to say that you could not be more wrong about the Fed. The creation of the Federal Reserve was absolutely genius. Without the Fed we would only have Congress to address inflation by setting interest rates when they work on the Budget with the President. Most of the time it takes a whole session to agree on appropriate rates for the budget. Needless to say it's a very inefficient way to address inflation. Whereas the Fed can just act quickly to nip inflation in the bud mainly through monetary supply when it needs too. If you think the economy is bad right now, try having one without the Fed.

On a side note. Did you guys hear that the CEO of Lehman Brothers got knocked out at his gym? Apparently some guy lost millions in his Lehman Brothers stocks and hunted down the CEO and punched him while he was running on the treadmill. Then when interviewed, admitted to it proudly and said "he'd do it again." Good for him I say.

Wow.

Kenny Smith got paid 10k per game as an analyst for the Knicks.

I wonder how much money he got paid to work at TNT with Charles and company.

Sounds like a fun job to have..

Getting paid to talk basketball. :)

Sweet.

Dick "The Gorilla" Fuld...

So they actually confirmed that? Awesome. When it was still in rumor stage I heard he was knocked out cold on his feet.

Unfortunately, that punch and the theatrical grilling he got in his Congressional hearing are probably going to be the stiffest punishments he receives. I heard he lost somewhere in the neighborhood of $800 million...but he's still worth about $200 mill, so I doubt he's going to be crying himself to sleep every night. What a bastard.

Haven't posted in a while but been reading the economic posts. Keep it up, I'm actually learning, lol.

How's college/university going Kno?

So far I'm having a blast (other than getting a 55 on my Math midterm, definitely the worst I've ever done on an exam.. but it's alright, I only made some stupid mistakes and there's another excluding the final which is worth the same).

Tried to join a Bhangra (kind of Indian dance) team at the U but they were full up.. Thinking of starting a different group with some friends now, lol. We'll see what happens.

Starting to realize now how big a part of my life my Sax was. I never really played it that much other than at school/concerts/etc. but knowing that I just don't have it is killing me. Looking to buy a new one now but that'll have to wait until summer after I get a job.

As for the actual studies.. I'm definitely going with the something concerning physics. For about a year I was looking into Astrophysics. I think it would be wicked awesome and I'm totally interested in anything space.. but looking into the future, I can't see me getting a job anywhere around this area, lol. So now.. I'm looking into Medical Physics instead, which I'm interested in, makes the parents happier and has more of a future, lol.

Anyone here know anything about the field?

Good to see the old crew coming back around.

Chubby, maybe you can explain why the intended use of the fed ended up creating an independent company that runs our market from behind a veil of non american decision makers? The Fed makes money independent of our status by selling dollars to many countries including us. Why do we buy our own currency, and why do they make the bulk of profit on Oil trades? Or I should say: Why is that good? I've got numerous accountants here that are always in my ear about how evil the fed is. It wouldn't be hard to get their diagnostics on it, since they force it down my throat every time it's brought up.

That's crazy, iki. What school are you going to?

It wasn't a well known group or anything. I guess they started up a group a couple of years ago and just dance at events around school and at a few weddings and stuff. Hopefully next year they'll have some opennings, though. I haven't hard of nsj but I've seen some stuff of Sher Foundation online. Your brother's on the team? That's so sweet, lol!
