Nocioni 4 Swift

Post#1 » by lat847 » Tue Oct 14, 2008 8:07 pm

Would New Jersey fans like to see a Nocioni 4 Swift trade? I think this would fill a huge hole at your 3 spot give you more toughness, rebounding and shooting in your lineup. As for the Bulls side Swift would be there to help out the cap and give more minutes to our younger players. Let me know what u think.

hellyea, sign me up for that, after tradin jefferson we lack a Sf, plus our surplus of big men, he would bring shooting, drive, and i wouldnt mind this at all...

IDK.

His contract is fair overall, but he gets in the way of caproom.

I think I have to pass.

Eh I've kinda cooled on this issue. I think I want to go into the season as is right now (buy out Ager though lol) and see if anything pops up at the deadline.

i gotta agree with prelude on this one. I do see the up side of this trade however i'm not real keen on helping an opponent clear cap space for the future free agent bonanza.

Cheers.

Especially when we hurt our cap space in the future.

Honestly, Nocioni kind of became unnecessary the moment Kiki signed Najera. Nocioni > Najera, but they are similar players and Najera's making a lot less.

My sentiments exactly, dj7.

We don't need another contract to clog up 2010 capspace, and truthfully, I think our SF rotation can get the job done almost as well as Andres could. We have no one spectacular, but a half dozen guys that can all play their role.

If the Nets would play Nocioni but won't play Swift, they should consider this deal.

However, Swift would be the best big man on Chicago's team. He beat out Gooden for a spot in the rotation with the Grizzlies and I'm sure he would beat Gooden out again if given a chance.

I don't think the Bulls would want to do this unless they had serious depth at SF, because adding Swift would give them a logjam, unless they planned on just not playing Swift or buying him out... But again, they would be stupid not to play him as he would be the best big on the roster.

Gooden is a much better player than Swift.

I'd love to have Drew Gooden. My only beef with him is that he makes a lot of dumb fouls, but I love that guy. I think Drew would hate coming to the Nets though because he's an expiring (at least I thought he was) and has a better chance or earning a better contract if he stayed with the Bulls instead of the log jam we have. I think if we move Stro, it'll be for a guy who knows he'll be wearing a suit once he arrives (see: KVH) and is ok with that. Either that or we'll trade Stro for a guy who plays the 1, 2 or 3 so free up more time for the young guys.

I guess most of us are in agreement.

No thanks!!

Pre Najera. Maybe. We have SF pieces.

Simmons spot up shoter.
Najera hustle and Defense.
Anderson potentially Nocioni-ish Shooter, Drive, Energy, and
SIC

Return to Brooklyn Nets
