SLTRIB: The Jazz will be missing players for tonight's preseason game against the Denver Nuggets at Pepsi Center, but the question still is exactly how many.
With a host of players nursing minor injuries, Jarron Collins (right elbow tendinitis) and Brevin Knight (sprained left thumb) were ruled out at the pregame shootaround this morning.
Andrei Kirilenko (sprained right index finger), Gerry McNamara (stomach flu) and Ronnie Price (bruised lower right leg) all remain game-time decisions.
Paul Millsap is probable to play after suffering a corneal abrasion during Tuesday's practice.
Not that the Jazz are alone in being cautious with players during the preseason. Allen Iverson didn't practice Tuesday and Nuggets coach George Karl told reporters he didn't expect Iverson would play.
Forward Chris Andersen also will skip the game with a calf injury.
But Carmelo Anthony is expected to play for the first time in the preseason after battling calf trouble so far.

AI ain't playing neithers.

I expect Koufos to hvae a bounce back game tonight, if he plays. And I am very curious to see if Fes and keep the magic going. His size should be a huge advantage over the Nuggets.

I'll be watching the game in TV.
I expect another Jazz win.

It's great when you know your team can win every team, in every arena, being preseason or not.

Guys who need to show something tonight:
Ronnie Price - no Knight, needs to do something to say "I need to play"
CJ - Just because he is being judged so closely and hasnt impressed so far.
Brewer - I personally havent seen much spark from him since the first game against LA.

Utah Jazz's D-leaguers vs. Denver's Bench... and it is this close. It can tell you something about how bad the Denver's bench is. Not even one point guard out for the Jazz.. and it is a 3 point game.

Koufos needs to learn to hit FTs. We should be winning if we could hit FTs...much love to the Kobe Stopper for extending this game.

Ouch CJ... 3-10...

Good stuff though.. 13 points, 7 assists. Pretty impressive for a guy playing 2 positions off.

Hopefully Price or Knight is good to go Friday because G-Mac needs to go asap. I know he wont because Sloan probably wont cut somebody on a road trip. Muoneke and G-Mac should have been cut after training camp.

Only negative for Kosta was his FT shooting, which is surprising because he hit a decent percentage in college. His shot just looks flat. He was very active, hustled on Offense, made a great adjustment to help CJ after Sloan pointed it out to him and got a help D block on Smith. That 3 was smooth. He needs to get more comfortable playing with his back to the basket.

Kudos to Mo for actually trying to play some D out there. He needs to still carve out his Niche on O. He needs to realize that in this system he can be golden just coming off the curl or getting open in the seams.

Denver looked a lot more active out there. I wish we played defense like that. Instead we just hack folks.

I was particularily impressed with Balkman's defense. He was everywhere out there. I'll bet he was responsible for 5-8 extra possessions for Denver.

I was particularily impessed with Kofos from out squad. You can tell he's not far from being ready. It's surprising he missed those free throws.

I also liked Korver's play, although we didn't see him out there much.

Not really excited about AK off the bench. Miles isn't as good as AK. But, maybe Sloan knows what he's doing. It Would be nice to have AK on the floor when Deron is resting.

I was hoping for more out of Brewer with his extra 15 pounds. He still couldn't slow down Carmelo.

Almond looks like he's got a way to go yet. I think we should probably trade him, as he just doesn't seem to have 'it'.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

An improved shooting Korver would make this team amazing. He has been lights out this preseason and I am pumped.

Deron is so good. He was cool as a cucumber tonight. Wasnt even trying. He worked Smush Parker twice tonight. And I mean WORKED.

CJ was the 2nd best PG on the team tonight. Sorry Gerry Mac. I know your bobblehead is on Dwight Schrutes desk but . . .

Has anyone checked out Roy Hibbert this preseason? He has been good. Man I wish we could have got that guy.

Whats the point? Your not going to get much other then him being a trade chip to be included in a dealing involving one of our core players.

At this point it makes more sense to let him play out his rookie contract and see if he figures it out.
