Wow, I've got to give Dunleavy credit for drafting right this year. I mean, you can bash him on Korolev but Eric Gordon was absolutely amazing and Mike Taylor may be the best player to ever come out of the NBDL. Great picks by Dunleavy.

Eric Gordon may be an undersized SG height-wise but he makes up for it by his sheer strength. He shoots from way beyond the arc like it's nothing. His range is just unbelievable and we already know he can get to the rack at will and draw contact or finish. Thornton and Gordon are going to be the cornerstones of this franchise on offense. If they can really refine their defensive games, we become one scary team on both ends in the future.

Mike Taylor may be our 2nd string PG the way he's been playing. I know it's pre-season but he's really impressed me more than anybody thus far over all 3 pre-season games. I love his mid range game and his feathery touch on those smooth floaters. He does tend to get lost on D and lose his man but what rookie doesn't? He hounds his man on D and sometimes plays them too close and gets lost but his intensity is great. Baron being out with the flu only makes it more obvious how he's outplaying Jason Hart right now. Hart hasn't been able to buy a bucket since the Lakers game.

As far as the vets go, Mobley looks to be getting in better shape each game. He's setting the table for the young guys and showing good intensity out there. Kaman....I don't get it. He seems to be in good shape but is just not getting it done yet. Maybe that foot problem is worse than we thought.

We would've wiped the floor with these Kings with their starting lineup had Baron, Camby, and Thornton were available. Anything less than 45 wins this season is a failure to me now I've been so impressed with the 2nd unit.

That was a stunning comeback. I didn't see it coming. I thought Gordon was gonna go off tonight, but not like he did, it was uncanny! The Taylor/Gordon combo is gonna turn heads this year. If Taylor keeps this up, he'll be the 2nd string PG pretty soon (and J-Hart thought he had nothing to worry about after J-Will left).

:jawdrop:

My cable went out midway through the 3rd quarter :banghead: and it just came back on and I am shocked to see that we won. Then I look at the stats and I'm tripping. Daaaaaaamn Gordon went off. That's what's up. I'm pissed that I missed that performance, but I'm glad that he was finally able to let loose. Earlier when I was watching, Mobley looked like he was getting into a groove and it looks like he finished strong. 17 points on 6-11 shooting. That's a good sign since he was terrible on the offensive end in the first 2 games. Paul Davis had real solid numbers with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Mike Taylor aka "One Man Press" finished with 21 points, 4 boards, 9 dimes and 3 steals. Coming into the season, Taylor was the guy that I thought may not make the team, but he's put up strong performances in each game. He does have his faults, but he's showing a lot that is very encouraging. Props to the Clippers and their big 4th quarter. Wow. :D

I'm not sure why Skinner missed the game, but Thornton was out with a sore right wrist that he sustained in Tuesday night's game.

i would like to see a combo of taylor and BD in the back court , since BD is big enough to be a 2 guard and mike taylors quick ness will be a tough match up.

Here's a Video recap of tonight's highlights. That reverse layup was sick.

Watching our guard rotation is going to be really fun this season. Opposing defenses are going to have their hands full with our back court athleticism, speed, ability to get to rim at will, and knock them down from deep. Jason Williams retirement is looking like it was another blessing in disguise.

Gordon will get at least 30mpg. He's the 1st or 2nd guy off the bench and Mobley's minutes will be minimized because of his age.

im looking at mobley and expecting no lower than 28 mpg, i mean, he played over 35 mpg last yr. are u expecting heavy minutes at pg with jwill's retirement?

You're right, perhaps 30 might be stretch. At SG I would say Cat is dialed in for 25-30mpg. Gordon will probably get around 15-20 minutes at SG and maybe 5 or so minutes at PG. 30 probably isn't realistic. 20-25? This is all depending on how well Ricky Davis plays as well. Dunleavy has a lot of options to mix and match at PG/SG/SF this season. Mobley I just don't see getting heavy minutes this season. He's already said he would relish coming off the bench too. I would love to see Gordon earn his minutes and eventually start alongside Baron Davis.

Cat had a really solid game last night if he can stay consistant at that pace we are a deadly team. I see EG taking up more mins as the season progresses futher. Until thgen he will soak up mins as PG and SG.

I even think 25 MPG is a stretch, considering how Thornton got time to start the season. I think Gordon get's 15-20 MPG to start off the season, and as he progresses, the more MPG he'll get.

It's pretty clear Gordon is more NBA ready now than Thornton was at the beginning of the season last year. Just his outside shooting alone makes him more ready to contribute. Thornton had to compete with Maggette and Thomas for minutes. The SG position is probably the least competitive on the Clippers roster right now. The only pure SG he has to contend with is Mobley. Ricky Davis will also play some minutes at the 2...but then he primarily subs for Thornton at SF so it's really only Mobley who's seriously eating into Gordon's PT. I think Dunleavy will give Gordon more opportunities than Thornton had for sure.
