Lopez better be starting by the all-star break. Boone has no upside and is not a starting center in this league.

Lopez hasn't shown much at all during these exhibition games. Boone has shown flashes of being a 10/10 guy. I'm pulling for Lopez, but I'm not ready to throw Boone under the bus just yet.

Yi...Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...4 fouls in less than 7 minutes.

Brook...4 fouls in less than 17 minutes.

rag-time4,

Before you say it and post it...it was a nice explosive dunk with no defense around him.

Simmons is garbage . Horrible shot selection..
A starting lineup of
PG- Harris
SG- CDR
SF- Vince
PF- Yi
C- Lopez

would be ideal

Too bad Frank is too stupid to figure that out right now

first off lol at House at the end but immediately redeems himself w/ the nice reach in against CDR.

The Good
Yi's offense - had shooting range out to the line & ran the break well, stayed aggressive
Lopez - I want this guy to start. He showed some touch on the perimeter & inside & was tough on the boards. Just naturally bigger than most guys on the court. (problem being he & Yi starting may cause foul issues..)
VC's offense - was aggressive looking to finish strong throughout the game (outside of 2 shots, one w/ shotclock going down)
Swift's post offense - in the post at least he knows to use his size advantage going strong/towards the hoop for scoring opportunities (whereas SWat was fading away against Scalabrine...)

The Bad
Offense - the quick moving memphis offense was given up too many times where guys stood around & looked at teammates going one on one
Devin - has not looked great in the preseason yet...just really bad decisions. Yet another game where he went 1 vs 2 fastbreak to fail. Yet another game where he kept forcing passes that were not there.
PG position - see above but also Dooling looked like Hodge w/ more scoring out there. Everyone expected Dooling to also be a scoring PG who can defend but he didn't look right running the show but it's his first game so give him slack. After seeing Kidd all these years alot of Nets fans are gonna be pulling their hair watching the PG play this year.
SWat - people were saying how great his camp was...I don't see improvement. He's not even impacting the D side as much in pre-season.
VC's D - got caught tracking the ball & not seeing his man cutting (did this too often last year also), Tony Allen's first step was crushing him esp in the 1st.
Yi's fouls - could be preseason whistles that are less lenient but dang 4 fouls in the 1st but I thought a few were touch/questionable but still this team needs Yi on the floor.

So far it looks like only VC / Yi / CDR are comfortable w/ the offense.
I hope Najera can be a guy who can settle down the team (glue type guy).

so far, most worried about Devin & SWat's play in the preseason.

Outside of Allen who was a known commodity, Pruitt for the Celts looked good & ex-Nets, House & Scalabrine (House earlier, Scal later) hit some key 3pts.

Hopefully Devin will be rolling by the time the reg. season comes around or this team is a lottery lock if they aren't already. I can see Frank also letting VC run the point & using Dooling as the 2 guard - Dooling has very little pg skills.

I've really been hampered with schedule constraints so I can't volunteer to do this on a regular basis. Plus, with me not having league pass anymore (haven't had it in a few years actually, which is why my activity here has gone down as well), it really makes it difficult to comment on the games.

Ah just thinking of the days when there would be several in-depth game recaps by me, Enetric, and others after every game. Those were good times indeed. So new posters (especially those who watch on a consistent basis), time to step up!

I only caught bits and pieces of the game. Appreciate the thoughts guys.

The main impressions I left with last night where CDR is a gem and already a legit NBA baller, SWAT still looks like a rookie, Yi looks a bit like (healthy) Krstic.

Off and on. My schedule is going to be busy at irregular times and I won't be able to catch some stretches of games.

I'll put up something if I will be watching a game and no one is making a thread.

couldn't watch this one & from the score it looks like I didn't miss much for the Nets.

Devin 0-8..wtf is going on w/ him this preseason ? Anyone watch the game see if it was missed jumpshots, bad shot selection, missed layups, playing to fast ? At least he limited his Turnovers to 1.

Yi looks like he had another good scoring game but only 3 rebounds and - 19. Lopez - 21...tough night for the starting frontcourt.

Anyone see how Ager looked out there..didn't seem to show up much on the stat sheet.

SWat finally looks like he had a good game...3 bs, 3-7 fg, 6 rebounds, 2 assist.
Anderson too had a good stat line.

Man outrebounded 56-29 & 14 offensive by Celtics..is that right ?!?..lot of bigs...no one boxing out ? c'mon.

Kept turnovers down but that rebound number looks wrong....can't believe w/ Nets big team they would get outworked that much on the glass. I know Pruitt has long arms but how does he grab 12 rebounds ?!?

Devin..preseason games are running out man....

No Swift, no Boone. Swift's individual rebounding stats are not consistent because he's not a selfish player, but he does consistently do a good job of blocking out his man, even if the result is that a teammate grabs the defensive board.

I didn't see the game either, but from the rebounding totals it looks like the Nets were very soft defensively in the paint.

Points in the paint were 32-28 in favor of Boston.

In the first game against Boston, which Stromile Swift played in, the Nets won the points in the paint battle 48-32, and Stromile Swift scored 10 points in 9 minutes.

Most of you guys might not think Swift is a good player but I'm not buying it, and never will. Swift's the best defensive player on the roster.

Also in the first game against Boston, the Nets outrebounded the Celtics 45-30

Oh man, this is just getting sickening.

That 1st one was original, though.
I've never heard somebody say a player isn't selfish to describe his lack of rebounding skills.

I been eating PBJ and Ramen soup lol. Stupid economy. I even gave up my Jaguar season tickets this year. A friend of mine is thinking about getting league pass though, so if he gets it, I'll make my way to his house and force him to watch some Nets game (which might not be too difficult, he likes Harris).
