We have Early Bird Rights on Bass and can resign him with that and without touching the MLE:

Early Bird exception

This is the lesser form of the Larry Bird Exception. Free agents who qualify for this exception are called "early qualifying veteran free agents," and qualify after playing two seasons without being waived or changing teams as a free agent. Using this exception, a team can re-sign its own free agent for either 175% of his salary the previous season, or the NBA's average salary, whichever is greater. Early Bird contracts must be for at least two seasons, but can last no longer than five seasons.

A much-publicized example for this would be Devean George, who vetoed his inclusion into a larger trade during the 2007-08 that would have sent him from the Dallas Mavericks to the New Jersey Nets because he would have lost his Early Bird rights.

You are right with Green, we should have gambled and spend 750k more in a 2 year deal.

Green will cost part of the MLE if we wish to keep him (I would not get too hyped up over 1 game). We can offer Bass MLE amount of money, but he would not cost us our MLE.

But LOL at giving the MLE to Sergio Rodriguez. He is a hair better than Barea; both are lucky to be in the NBA. Both are good 3rd string PGs, decent at best 2nd string and horrible 1st string. In no way does Sergio merit more than the bi-annual exception (which as long as we got Barea under contract I would not use on Sergio).

Im happy i was wrong about Bass, I'm not sure he will take only MLE money though, other teams might take a closer look at him :(

Unless Bass became a great rebounder, he won't get more than MLE.

Its funnyto every other fan in the NBA how dallas fans always think the problem with their teams are the players who surround Dirk lol. The reason why you are always a weak, no defense, passive during clucth moments is BECAUSE of dirk, not the supporting cast. Dirk gets the award for the all star who has had the most talented and stacked teams of all time, and still not accomplished anything. He's and all star who has had great teammates such as Steve Nash, Michael Finley, Nick Van Exel, Jerry Stackhouse, Antawn Jamison, Devin Harris, Josh Howard, Jason Terry, Antoine Walker, Jason Kidd, etc. All those GREAT players surrounded Dirk, and he still hasnt done anything! Its not your supporting casts fault, its Dirks fault. Any other star in this league would LOVE to have dirks team right now. If you told anybody in the league "hey, you can have Kidd, Terry, Josh Howard, and Stackhouse on your team right now if you take Dirks place" they would all jump at the chance. if you had played the last 10 years with duncan, garnett, webber, jermaine o'neal, brand, etc yall would have atleast 3 titles right now. probalby 5 or 6 if it would have been duncan or kg.

harris, terry, howard, kg, and damp dont lose to miami, trust me

If Cuban is still the owner of the Mavs threatening to accept the Larry O'Brian in a Speedo, you could have Paul/Kobe/Lebron/Duncan/D-12 and still lose do Dwayne Wade's phantom calls!

And LOL at you calling Antoine Walker, MIchael Finley, Jerry Stackhouse, an old Nick Van Exel, a 35yo Jason Kidd and a backup Jamison "GREAT" players. You have no BB IQ if you think that. Plus Nash is like Kidd in respect to having to have great finishers to make him look MVP caliber. Nash with Nellie and w/o Marion (even this year) and Amare is nothing more than a streak shooting fringe all-star...

Edit: and that year we had Nash-Finley-Van Exel, we won the 1st & 2nd round and won the 1st game against the Spurs. Then the player you call the problem went down to injury and then all of a sudden, we 4 of the nest 5 games to the eventual NBA champions. How ironic that a Houston fan knows nothing about Dallas teams? Not at all!

Its funny to see fans of a team always crying and complaining about their incredible "bad luck" with injuries when their FO stick with 2 injury prones as franchise players :roll:

Troll back into your Houston-Threads.

@Jes:

Ok, i meant not full MLE for Sergio but i think he still have way more "good PG-Potential" than Barea....

If he cost the best player in the trade (Howard), the better fit (Terry) and absorbtion of bad contracts, you bet your ass I am! The only interest I have in Iverson is an expiring contract if we are trading Terry as the center piece and w/o getting contracts beyond 2010 back.
