Well since it was only an ankle sprain I'm not super worried about it. Obviously the sooner he gets back the better but between Knight, Price and AK the Jazz can fill in for a few weeks of the season if that's what it takes.

I doubt it will bother Deron much longer then a month as long as he didn't really tear anything. He came down in it pretty hard but at least his ankle didn't turn all the way around or anything, it was on a pretty straight up and down jump so the ankle didn't turn completely unnaturally.

a sprain and a tear are just different severities of the same injury. you can't tell the true extent until you do an MRI

Luckily the Blazers have a crazy hard schedule to start the season or they'd jump on us quick in the divison standings. With out Deron we're an average at best team.

The Jazz are still a top 9 team in the West with out Deron if everyone else stays healthy. But Deron moves them up into championship contention.

Deron will have an MRI tomorrow.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't intentional, but it sure ****-ed me off when I saw it. If I had been in the arena, I probably would have charged the court. Its a very vulnerable feeling to see your season (and your franchise) writhing on the court in excruciating pain in a freakin preseason game because some dumb rook got a little carried away. Bitch.

We still have Kirilenko, we're fine guys :D

It's not like he's out for the season and Utah has enough talent to still contend for a month without Deron, so there's no reason to panic...yet, now if it's announced he's out for 2-3 months, then we're looking @ a low playoff seed possibly :(

Could this be like the year we went to the finals when we had to start out without Stockton?

I don't doubt that Utah could still compete with Deron out I just worry how long the will have to get by. Should we have to start the season without Deron I would play Knight at the point. I think he's a little better of a playmaker, more of a pure PG than Price and he's not bad defensively. Price would be able to play his same roll of coming off the bench and providing energy, offense etc. We also have Kirilenko and Miles that can play the point forward.

The thing that bothers me the most is that since Deron was given the starting job he's missed something like 6 games........and the Jazz lost every single one of them.. :-?

Hopefully this is like in 98 when we lost Stock for the first part of the season but then rolled to the NBA finals.....

This team is built to endure.....lets see how they respond.....
