I can't say if the PS2 is worth it or not for but PS3 and 360 owners it is. The gameplay is far better than 2K7. The overall flow of the offense is 100 times better than last year's game which had a lot had the players standing around way too much.

Also, I noticed that they fixed the goaltending issue from last year's game. To many times in the game last year, I found myself being called for both defensive and offensive goaltending even though the ball was coming off of the rim. That's been fixed.

Strange. I was playing at a buddy's place the other night and was complaining about goaltending being an issue. I must've been called 4 or 5 times in 3 games for questionable goaltending calls.

Wow. That's weird. In NBA 2K8, I got called all the damn time for it and I hated it. I'd say that I've probably played about 20 or so games so far and still haven't been called for it.

Also, despite screwing with the game sliders I am still beyond frustrated about the CPU's ability to pull down offensive boards and shoot a ridiculous percentage. I did find some guy who has apparently set up his own game sliders that others seem to love. Here's a link to his post about those sliders in case you want to make similar adjustments.

I love how the top stars, or all players for that matter, consistently miss wide open layups. How realistic...I'm pretty sure that throughout my history of playing this game, I have completed a higher percentage of wide open 20 footers than wide open 2 footers.

Maybe I should have gotten Live...

Did you adjust the game sliders yet?? I found that it makes a HUGE difference.

This has been my biggest pet peeve with 2k for a few years now. It boggles my mind to see the game creators perennially fail to address this flaw.

Well I'm still usually able to shoot above 50% despite that.

Just read that 2k9 is coming out on the PC, wahoooo! PC gamers rejoice!

I always wanted to try a 2k game but I don't own any consoles. EA abandoned PC gamers this year so having any NBA game on the PC is a nice surprise. The Live series (and EA in general) was going downhill IMO anyway, the PG dominated the ball way too much even after adjusting sliders and triple teaming the bastard. I hope 2k9 plays better.

I'm finding that as well. I'm still tinkering with the game sliders in order to balance out the CPU's offensive rebounding and the shooting percentages. I've had a couple of games now where both me and the CPU has shot around 46% for the game but I'm still having the occasional game where both of us are shooting in the high 50s and that's no good.

I still have yet to actually play in Association or Season mode since I don't want to start until I have the right game sliders nailed down. That said, I've played probably around 25 games so far and NOT one of them has had Andre Miller in a Sixer uni. I'm pretty sure I've over the Ping Pong Ball Killer's era and I don't know why since he was a stud for us last year.
