what to do you guys think of this trade idea that will sent andrea bargnain and anthony parker or jason kapono to the wolves for corey brewer, craig smith and and a 2nd round pick

bargs could be perfect fit for twolves to get the inside outside with big al and raps could fill in thier big hole in small forwards position.

I rather take my chances on Brewers potential. Bargnani seems like what Kevin Love would be if he was less skilled and really soft. Plus he can't play center, even by the wolves standards.

bargnani way better outside player then love, love is going to take space from big al in the paint that is the only thing he could do.{no disrespect} so him and bargs could help each other

I recognize that you're putting value into the deal, but I think Corey Brewer would be a difficult player to trade for. MIN invested a lottery pick in him, and front offices hate to look stupid, so I think they have to hope he starts living up to their investment.

Guys like Craig Smith (who I think would be a great fit with JO and Bosh) are easier to trade, because both teams have a fairer idea on what his true value is -- it isn't clouded by unrealistic expectations that FO's have on every young lottery pick.

shrink, that arguement kind of goes out the window when you're talking about trading last year's #7 pick for the #1 pick the year before.

I'd do this if Carney has shown enough to be a legitimate rotation player.

PF - Jefferson/Love
SF - Gomes/Carney
SG - Miller/McCants
PG - Foye/Telfair/Parker

It gives us our 3rd point guard and brings probably equal potential, if not more, to a position of need, where Brewer is currently just one of many. Bargnani isn't a typicaly center, nor probably a center period, but with Jefferson, Gomes, and Miller all being above average rebounders at their position, we'd be fine.

Actually, I think both teams would be unwilling to make the trade because of this reasoning. However, a pick from two years ago has a more solid idea of value.

Bargs isnt a Center. Never will be. And to say Love is only gonna eat paint from Al is ludicrous.

Love is a better rebounder, gets his shot off in the paint better and will help take the defense away from Jefferson better than Bargs, sorry. I never liked the kid.

We would need some decent defenders in that package, as Brewer is seen as one of our best perimeter defenders and bargs and kapono have struggled with d.

I'm not sure if the Wolves would consider this deal, but I'm quite sure that Toronto wouldn't.

Especially if it's Anthony Parker, the vet wing the Raptors are giving up is probably the most effective player on either side of the trade right now. Parker is getting up there in years, but he's a better wing defender than Brewer at this point, and a very solid spot shooter who can get to the rim if he's left open; if Brewer can become a younger, more athletic version of the player that Parker has been since his return to the NBA in 2006, the Wolves will be thrilled. He'd start on the wing next to Miller in Minnesota, and might be enough to make the Wolves a darkhorse playoff threat.

Bargnani then has the highest upside, AND the more invested from a "draft value used to obtain him" standpoint.

There's zero chance that the Raptors would do this, IMO.

I think LA_33 is right in that both teams turn it down.

Parker is not a better wing defender than Brewer.
