S.I.C. GM wrote:^ Please they still had Kidd on most marketing adds after he got traded.

I am not talking about VC being in ad's and on flyers, etc.

I am talking about the facy he was the guy sent to England ahead of time, he is the guy that showed up on a season ticket holder's door and dropped off his ticket's, he is at a lot of the meet and greets.

I am not saying he will not be traded, I just don't think that he is literally on the block, as RJ and Kidd were (granted Kidd pretty much forced a trade).
If that were the case I would believe they would have Harris doing more of the actual live PR stuff VC is doing.

In my opinion, I would say it is known around the league that Thorn is not looking to dump or trade VC, but if you called him with the right offer, it will happen.
I don't think the offer has to be amazing, but even with VC's big contract, I just don't see a non-lottery pick or a subpar young guy and an expiring gets it done.

I also think VC for Odom never happens and the Lakers probably wouldn't want to pair him with Kobe.

Tim Thomas and Mobley for VC?!
Never!

Maybe if Eric Gordon was thrown in and a 1st rounder, but as good as Gordon might be, does Rod really want to build around a 6-3 SG that doesn't especially like to pass?
I do not think so. Especially with Devin Harris' style, you really need to put a playmaking 2 guard next to him.

We all see what this team looks like without VC for a quarter, let alone a game.
Rebuilding or not, it would be hard to sell or market a team that religiously gets beat by 20 points while only putting up 80 a game.
I know it is early, and the college season has yet to begin, but there isn't even a sure fire big time player in this draft worth tanking for.

I want James Harden, I think he will be a stud, ala a Brandon Roy type, but tanking doesn't guarentee getting a top 3 pick, and no matter how good Harden is this year, he probably goes 4-9, especially if Rubio comes out.

Also, if the team is showing no real consistency and/or ability, it will be mighty hard to lure one of the big time FA's here, especially when there are 6-10 other teams with major cap space, and it becomes obvious that we aren't going to Brooklyn.

I know you despise VC, I also know I can be slightly biased in the opposite direction because VC is my favorite player, but I just think it is obvious that Rod cannot and will not trade VC for nothing for many stated and obvious reasons.

If he gets traded, I expect something in between what we got for RJ and what we got for Kidd.
He will not be traded for trash.

Cap space is nice, but it's useless if you can't use it.
Also, with the plethora of young guys with true potential that we have, it isn't some kind of given we would sign 2 big time FA's even if we have the room, cause in the next 2 to 4 years we may have a lot of our guys that deserve and/or expect big money themselves.
