According to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan has already been fired.

This comes after a report from ESPN saying that Nolan would be let go after Sunday's game against the Seahawks. It is assumed that assistant head coach Mike Singletary will take over for Nolan.

The story has already been reported by Pro Football Talk.

It;s about time for the Niners.

Alex Smith just hurt his shoulder again celebrating.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Not shocking that Nolan and Smith are going to find work at the same time.

How can any coach be fired when Childress is still employed? (perhaps because nobody on the vikings staff is head coach material)

Can't say we didn't see this one coming. It's not really his fault that they drafted 4 complete busts in the 1st round over a 3-year period, but it's also not like any player got better under his tutelage. There is absolutely zero leadership on that team and unfortunately that starts with Nolan too.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game
