Foye's Numbers 09 season

Post#1 » by orl1724 » Tue Oct 21, 2008 9:40 pm

Hey Magic fan here...

I am about to do a trade involving Randy Foye and I was wondering what you Minny fans were expecting out of him this season, I notice you guys have a few options on offense this year with Al Jef, Miller, McCants, and Love. What are some resonable number to expect from Foye?

I would like to think that he would be more like 16ppg, 3rpg, 6apg, 1spg, 2 3ptmpg.

He is still our #2 option (even with miller, mccants, gomes and love) and he will have the ball in his hands for a large portion of the game as he is our pg.

Id say you are pretty close to right on. I don't feel that FOye is still our second option and eventually will or already is a third option at best but prob a 4th option. He is highly overrated here on these boards so be careful.

He averaged 13.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.2 apg, 0.9 spg in half a season last year coming off an injury. Barring a major injury (or stupidity from Wittman), I don't see him regressing from those numbers. The team has more offensive options this year so his assists should increase. I'll say something in the neighborhood of 15 ppg, 3 rpg, 5-6 apg, 1 spg is reasonable.

Exactly, just look at his number last season to start off. Add a few digits in the points and assists category and you have what is likely for him.

I don't see many people overating Foye lately. What they are is excited. This guy will hopefully be able to play the whole season this year. It is not at all about overating him as to expect improvement out of a 3rd year player, who has shown flashes of being a good point guard. I could see 13 or 14 points, 7 assists, 2 to 3 rebounds, and around a steal a game. He will definately have some break out games along the way too

I know you're just kidding, but I really think he's set the bar for himself. 14 apg should be the minimum expectation. At least. If Chauncey Billups is his career path and he averaged 7 apg, and they're both right-handed, except Foye's heart is on the right side of his body instead of his left, so therefore I'd estimate blood only has to travel 1/2 as far to get to his right hand, then he should get twice as many assists. I read a book once, so don't argue with me.

That seems like solid logic.

Ahh Devilz, I've missed you. I can't post here during the offseason, but if it's okay for me to say, you're the wind beneath my wings. Back to it, we are. Chauncey is Foye's career path... and in Chauncey's first effective pro season (his last season with the Wolves, gosh darn it, in 01-02) he averaged 12.5 points, 5.5 assists.

I'd expect about that for Foye this year.

Wow I never knew he had reversed organs until this thread. How did I miss that?!

Delux is the biggest anti-foye argument on this forum. Just giving a fair warning.
