My guards are AI, D.Rose, Fernandez, Kapono and Gino.
Considering Gino is injured now, is an AI/D.Rose/Fernandez backcourt good enough in assists?
AI last season averaged 7 apg, and Rose may have the similar figure in his rookie season. Fernandez is not a PG, so I just expect around 2-3 apg for him.
Is that enough for assists? If not, which PG can Gino + Fernandez be traded for?

Dude, it might work but its risky. AI great pick. But you have two rookies that you need to produce. Rose is in a very crowded back court, and thats not a great scenario for production. I don't see Rose getting 7 a/g with Hinrich and Gordon and Hughes getting PT. Not in his first season anyway.
I like Rudy but he's more likely to produce 3's and steals than a lot of assists.

I think you will struggle in assists unless you have a forward like LeBron, JJ, Butler, or Kobe who can also help out in that category. It is tough to say what Ginobilli can bring in for you considering his injury situation. You could offer up Ginobilli and Fernandez and try to get Andre Miller, Devin Harris, Mo Williams, or JKidd. You might have to settle for guys like Bibby, Rondo, Tony Parker, Foye, Ford, or Felton.
Who is available in free agency? If you can add a guy like Conley or Duhon you might be all set afterall.

No, you'll lose assists every week. You could either go two ways here: 1) Forfit assists every week and strengthen your other stats. or 2) Make some moves to try and salvage your assist categories. Because as of right now, you won't win any assists. No one knows how much time Derek Rose is going to get. I'd be surprised if he gets 5 assists a game. And Rudy Fernandez isn't a pg so I don't know where you are going with that one. IF you're going to pick someone up. Look at Ridnour. He should be available in most leagues since a lot of people sleep on him. He's starting in Milwaukee this year, and is a solid pg when giving starting minutes. He'll get 7+ assists a night. Jameer Nelson is another player that you might want to look at on the waiver wire if he's available. Dooling is gone, so he's not going to snake some of Nelson's minutes. Out of the two, I'd go with Ridnour though. But if you stay pat, you'll lose assists for sure.
