Often with Knee injuries your able to walk or even run immediately after, but a couple hours later your knee starts to swell up and you can`t put any pressure on it. But, hyperextension are not bad when talking about knee injuries so hopefully Kobe is fine, and Vitti can fix him up.

Farmar looks great, period. He looks like he's going to take another big jump this season. You have to respect a guy who gets into the gym every summer and works on his game like Jordan obviously does. He's really taking it to the rack hard.

^more info probably, but by all accounts so far it isn't that serious. Fisher said Kobe will play the opening if he knows Kobe. Its obviously a bit scary, and you don't want injuries like that (especially to your best player) and Kobe has had history of knee injuries/surgeries. I thin he'll sit out the rest of the preseason and contact practices, and suit up for Portland for the opener.

Lakers' Kobe Bryant injured in exhibition
He leaves game after bumping knees with teammate.
By Mike Bresnahan
8:52 PM PDT, October 21, 2008

Reported from San Diego -- Kobe Bryant left an exhibition game against the Charlotte Bobcats with what was called a hyperextended knee after bumping knees with Lakers forward Josh Powell on Tuesday night at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Bryant was injured while going for a rebound off Sun Yue's missed shot. After bumping into Powell, Bryant's knee appeared to hyperextend, and he landed off balance.

Bryant immediately signaled to the bench that he was injured and a timeout was called with 3:08 left in the second quarter. He walked over to the bench and sat at the end of it for a few moments before walking to the locker room under his own power, with trainer Gary Vitti closely behind.

Bryant did not play in the second half and will be re-evaluated Wednesday. His status is day to day.

I knew Jordan Farmar is upto something this season but I never thought he'd get so much better. He is what you want him to be off the bench now.. instant offense, running the break or playing good defense and disrupting the opposition's offense with steals. We've all kinda forgotten his upside with all focus on Bynum but he's going to be a very pleasant surprise for us this season.

In my case, Im not surprised he is doing this. Jordan did the same thing last year. He was on fire at the beginning of the season. For me the true test will be how he is playing after the all-star break. If he is playing then the same way he is playing now, then we truely may having something special.

I agree imworthy, Jordan must prove he can be stronger and not flame out in the stretch drive.

^^ No. He was nowhere near this good last season. He improved his shot tremendously to get minutes but that was about it. The assurance, poise and control he's been displaying so far is completely new and its quite an improvement for sure.
