Bowman Out For Season?

The Bears' run of misfortune in the secondary continued in Sunday's win as rookie defensive back Zackary Bowman, whose interception sealed the 48-41 win over the Vikings, suffered a biceps injury that will require surgery and could end his season after just one game.

Bowman, who also scored his first NFL points by recovering a muffed punt in the end zone, will undergo surgery before the Bears' Nov. 2 game against the Detroit Lions.

The rookie put on an impromptu clinic in toughness by convincing the coaching staff he could go back in after a head injury to cornerback Corey Graham and making the Bears' fourth interception of the game.

"To be able to play through that, definitely playing with pain and close to an injury, that said a lot for him on his first game," coach Lovie Smith said.

Hell of a one game season. Can we inject a little of what Zack has into Nathan Vasher?

That's too bad for Z-Bo. Hell of a memorable one game season. I know the bicep thing was a freakish injury, but injury concerns are why he was available in the 5th round. Dude couldn't stay healthy in college.

This is so Bears like, one great game, then disappear into thin air.

Anyone remember Brock Forsey? haha.

Yeah, but lets be realistic - Zach was a rookie up from the practice squad who we really didn't want to see on the field. I like our back corners right now. but get me Vasher & Tillman back for 9 games and I'm happy.

Bears signed Terrence Holt, 28 year old 6th year safety who is Torry's brother.

Terrence Holt is a desperation fill and nothing more. If Ty Law had anything left he'd have been off the street weeks ago. The Steelers brought him in after Week 2 and his workout there didn't even last an hour before they told him thanks but no thanks.

It sucks for Bowman that he cannot stay healthy. Dude has got some very good NFL skills and the confidence to succeed. I really like the young CBs who have stepped in pretty well in place of Vasher and Tillman. They need consistency and experience but the talent level dropoff isn't much, if any.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game
