ESPN 08-09 Predictions

Post#1 » by JJ LoDuca » Thu Oct 23, 2008 12:46 am

From ESPN.com:
Coming home will surely ratchet up the distractions, but if Davis doesn't raise the Clips, it just may hurt his local movie production business. Besides, why would he want to mail it in? There's more talent here than in Golden State, including better bigs. And a cross-arena rivalry with pal Kobe will keep the juices flowing. One wild card: Will he jibe with Dunleavy? A coach who has Davis' respect has Davis at his best. Otherwise? Davis may as well be on leave.

Out of 10 analysts, only two (one of which was Jalen Rose... ) had us in the top 8 in the West. More haters to prove wrong!

We're getting dissed by almost every ESPN annalist. All of them say we might get a playoff spot. But we all know it's nothing new getting hated on and over looked being a Clippers fan. Like I said before let's prove all these critics wrong. Half the time these people aren't right anyways. We study our team and we know what we have.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

It'll give them something to write about when we crumble their little predictions.

Just like the espn preview for the '05-'06 season. Ford and Hollinger had similar predictions that year. However, Chris Sheridan always seems to rank us pretty high. Let this serve as inspiration.

I hate to put this thing up here but maybe it will give extra motivation going into the season.

Really it comes with the territory. The name on the front of the jersey is all they need to know, because they're the Clippers. The only way to fix it is to have a new mentality and form a new identity. I think that this offseason was just the beginning of that, but we do have a long way to go before we get respect or a little optimism thrown our way from these "analysts".

I don't see anything terribly wrong or inaccurate about it. This isn't like the Hollinger 30 win prediction, how can Portland not be expected to be improved and make the playoffs with the addition of Oden, Fernandez and Bayless to a team that was at .500 last season.
