Would have liked to see what Mays looked like, they said he was a solid young player, although I am sure with the 6 guaranteed contracts for Sg/SFs it was a numbers cut.

Juwan is a nice keep, we can use the leadership and the veteran off the bench.

Other then that I am not sad to see any of them go, although Fazekas may one day develop into a deep rotation player down the road.

^^^^ I did get to catch some of the game that we played against Toronto and Mays didn't look to bad in the brief time that he did get to play. Although it is pretty difficult to gauge talent on 12-15 minutes of action, but from what I did see, I wouldn't mind seeing him get another look down the road.

I actually really liked what i saw from mayes but oh well i guess, he would never crack Karl's rotation. Im kind of glad Fazekas was let go, he's one of the most physically ungifted players. I don't know, he could barely run. otherwise i'm glad to see howard and even happier Ruben is gone.

I don't mind keeping Howard, but why not Smush? He's clearly an upgrade from carter...

Good news. I'd like to keep Ruben and Smush as far away from this team as possible.

I am surprised Smush and Mateen got cut. With Atkins out, we could use some PG depth for at least practice. Is this a sign that we will be bringing someone else in? We now have an open roster spot.

If nothing better materializes, I wouldn't mind signing Julius Hodge, who was just cut by the Nets. He has shown promise at the PG position and his size would help next to AI.

As long as Smush and the rapist were cut, I am happy.

As for PG depth, I think AC will get good time (unfortunately), but I also expect Melo to play a little point-forward this year, and JR/AI filling in some PG duties.

So for the first game we got: Nene, Martin, Jones, Iverson, Carter, JR, Kleiza, Andersen, Howard, Balkman, Hunter, Weems with Melo and Atkins on the Injured List. After 2 games my guess is Weems heads to the List.
