Will this be the year for the rockets?

Post#1 » by JazzItUp13 » Fri Oct 24, 2008 3:10 pm

Hey guys, big time T-mac fan here and also big fan of ron artest...just wanted to get your thoughts on the rockets chances of taking it all this year? it won't be a first round exit this year! T-mac has enough help now to get him out of the first round! I mean you have an inside presence in yao...slasher/go to scorer in T-mac and a defensive ball hawk in ron ron. I don't see how you can go wrong with that! I just hope ron keeps his head on straight for a full season...I'm a pacer fan and i still like ron even though what happened in indiana!
Heres to hoping the rockets take it all!
I got a question why they hating on me....

If all is healthy it'll be a championship victory. However if Yao gets injure again they'll at least get pass the first round this time.

To put it simple this is a make or break year for the Rockets. I think they need at least the WCF to remotely stay together for the next 3-4 years.

with a 1/4 chance of making the finals, and a 1/2 chance of winning the finals outright... I'm going to guess conservatively and say 10%. But hey... that's 3x higher than the blind statistical average of 1/30.

1/4 chance besting Lakers, Spurs, Hornets
1/2 chance facing Cleveland/Boston/Detroit
Bullets -> Wizards

Im going to go ahead and make my prediction.

We will make the playoffs of course. If we have 2 or more major injuries going into the postseason, we will struggle. If we are healthy going into the postseason I dont see why we cant win a title.

Only 3 more days!

^

That's really weird logic.

I'd say a healthy Rockets team has at LEAST a 50% chance of beating the Celtics, and a far, far higher chance of beating both the Cavs and the Pistons.

We consistently eat the Cavs alive every time we play them, and the Pistons just aren't good enough to hang with us, honestly.

If we come out of the West, and anyone other than Boston is waiting for us...I like us in 4.

The hat trick is definitely getting out of the West. We match up well with the Spurs and Lakers, and over the last couple of seasons consistently play well against them. The Hornets are much more of an enigma...we mostly dominated them last season, but in earlier seasons they definitely had our number. Difficult to say.

Our toughest matchups are undoubtedly the Jazz and Lakers. The Lakers because they have an eerily similar roster to our own, and the Jazz because of Okur/Boozer vs. Yao, and of course Dwill vs. Alston.

If someone knocks out the Lakers and Jazz for us...watch out.

Even if they don't...I think the Vegas odds at 10:1, even 8:1, are a fantastic bet.

We'll defeat Boston in 6.
