wrong. he's underrated on these boards. so his two flaws are TOs and FT%? How many players in the league are even good at free throws these days? Even forwards have a hell of a time at the line. The average around the league is approx .775--and as for TOs, any player who handles the ball a lot turns it over frequently. Really heavy exaggeration on how detrimental Dwight Howard is on a team--he's one of the few dominating assets in the league today.

anyway, i think your team is pretty solid.

Pretty fuzzy logic there.
In a standard league his flaws are 3's obviously he contributes nothing.
Free throws where he destroy your team to the point where even if you draft him with the 2 best free throw shooters in the game you're still below average.
Assists where he averages less than half of a good average score.
TO's where he is about 50% higher than what you want.
He's also slightly below average at steals but that's only a small negative.

His strengths are FG% where he's second best in the league behind Amare.
Rebounds see him at more than double the average.
Blocks are excellent too, he is great in this cat.
Lastly points, the most overrated cat in the game where he is above average.

So he's dominant in 3 cats, above average in another, slightly below average in another, significantly below average in 2 other cats, does nothing at all in another and in the last cat he kills you. In summary he's massively overrated unless you're ditching FT%.

Solid early picks until that Crawford pick. Last 3 picks are questionable but waiver material anyways.

As for the Dwight comment. I think 16th-20th is about right. But yes, you will be punting FT%.

Pls rate my team:

Last year Dwight was ranked 49th overall using the standard 8 cats and 87th overall in 9 cat. Now unless you think hes gonna drastically improve, this is where he will be again.

He is not underrated at all, infact he is overrated and is usually taken that high in all leagues because people are in awe of his boards/FG/blocks.

I think that site focuses on his roto value--he's a lot better in H2H. Besides, just tank FT% and TOs (I do) and you're laughing.

According to that list, Andrew Bogut is as much of a liability as Howard. If you tank FT% (I just don't see how it's that hard), you would still dominate your league.

Now check off FT% and see where he's ranked. 3rd! So for a team punting FT%, he's a steal.

I always tank TO as most good players are TO prone. So without TO and FT%, he's 3rd. The sad thing is, even knowning this, I always wait one spot too late to draft him.

I generally tank TOs and FT% and always win my weeks 7-2 when playing H2H. I don't see why I get mocked over this from other users. It's a great strategy.

I like Dwight Howard and I think its fine drafting him high and then building a team around him based on his deficiencies. For example, Kevin Martin is a great counterbalance to Howard's FT%, as he shoots a lot of FTs and hits around 87% of them.

As for the turnovers, I think it's a) something he will improve on as he gets better and b) something a lot of star players have. LeBron, Kobe, Wade, etc. all have high TO rates. I can't remember a team I had that both did very well and consistently won the turnover battle. It is a category I don't even worry about.

And, like the guys before said, Howard is 3rd on that site if you don't count turnovers and FT%, 6th if you do count turnovers but no FT%. I find it a little ridiculous that he drops from 6th to 87th based on his FT% alone.

Kevin Martin will not be able to "counterbalance" Howard. If you are picking Dwight, it's almost a given that you will be tanking FT%. If you try to fix your % by picking high FT% players, you will be wasting that cat when you can dominate your stronger cats. Unless you are playing Roto, you rarely try to fix a cat when you are in such a big hole already.
