Could AK be any paler?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

There's no better feeling than beating neighbours for a season opener win.

Nugget fan here btw...

Nice thread.

Go Jazz.

I am not convinced one way or the other about Deron playing.

Oh man our bench is so much better minus Jason Hart.

Wow Nugget fans confident in your team? I don't even understand how you can be with that awful lineup you have to put out there..

I think Jazz have to win.
Being the first game, we wil be really focused in the game, and with or without Deron will have to win Nuggets, who will suffer a lot without Melo.

I'm pretty sure Williams will not play. Last preseason game Jazz got a double double from Price/Knight against Blazers subs... but it's my belief we can manage the Nuggets without Deron.
I expect to see some Fesenko during the first couple of weeks; we need to know where he actually is NBA wise...
With or without Carmelo Anthony, this is not a game to lose; it would be an awfull season start.

Actually, without Melo it is a game not to lose (if Deron is playing). And the starting line up above is wrong for the Nuggets, Karl is planning on starting AI, Nene, AC, Kmart with Jones, not Balkman. So if Williams is playing, and your team can't get out to a big lead and win against a team that is starting two D-Leaguers, your team has problems.

Yeah because the first game is so telling of how the entire season will go. I guess we should have just packed out tent up last year after December cause we were sucking so horribly.. God forbid we got better during the season and got to the 2nd round of the season.

Better beat those Nuggets by 50 cause after all they are starting 2 d-leaguers (and apparently WE have problems?)

I am looking forward to Price matching up against AI. It will be interesting to see Price use his energy, hustle, defense, and athleticism against AI.

LOL, nice way to twist things. My point was, which I see I really wasn't clear about, was that without Melo and with Williams, it would be a really awful way to start the season if your team lost. Pretty sure we can agree with that?

I said if they lost.. that does not say the Jazz apparently has problems. Unless you are predicting a Nuggets win? And most Denver fans will tell you Karl is a moron. Not disputing that fact.

My guess is he'll pick up 2 quick fouls and he'll be in foul trouble for basically the entire game.
AI is really good at drawing fouls and Price's aggressiveness will probably put him in trouble.
I expect Boozer to have trouble against Martin and Nenê too. Hopefully his jumper is falling. Memo will kick ass IMO. The second unit will destroy the Nuggets bench and Brewer will eat alive whoever is guarding him. I'm looking forward to seeing if the CJ experiment will work.
If the Jazz play some kind of defense, they should win this one (I'm actually expecting AK to throw a block party). It will also be nice to see how the team does without Deron.
Prediction: Jazz win 107-94.

Everyone knows Korver is our Denver slayer. I expect him to have around 20 points on opening night.
