Mavs Believe They Can Win It All

Post#1 » by JordansBulls » Sun Oct 26, 2008 5:03 pm

Source: Star-Telegram

Nowitzki: Our goal is not to make the playoffs. Our goal has to be a championship team. We can’t be satisfied just making the playoffs. We’re not that far off. If we can run this offense and stay solid defensively, we can play with anybody in this league.

Kidd: I agree with Dirk. We don’t talk about making the playoffs. We talk about winning a championship. If you talk about it and see it, it helps it become reality. If you get in that position, you have to take advantage of it. And we’re going to try to take advantage of it.

Q: Would either of you like to take the opportunity to guarantee winning a championship?

Nowitzki: That would be nice.

Kidd: That would be nice.

Most generic thread/article name ever.

[name]_______________[/Insert Team Name] believe they can win it all.

And they don't have a shot by the way.

I wouldn't expect them to say anything else. Granted they have a slim chance, but that's what everyone in this league (except for Larry Hughes) is playing for.

They have no shot, Kidd is a terrible fit for that team (the Mavs are a team of iso players who take a lot of jumpers, Kidd needs althletic finishers to be most effective).

Well Kidd and Dirk have both led teams to the Finals. Paired up together you'd expect they'd have a better shot. I'm not sure how many of last year's issues were due to Avery being a stubbon coach, and how much came from Kidd losing his mojo. Seeing as how, the Mavs were a perennial threat without J Kidd, and I think that Kidd is still a much better player than Harris, I think that the adjustments made by Carlisle will help the team out a lot and they will be a surprise this year.

In Phoenix, despite their new coach, I don't see the Shaq trade ever working out for them.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Anything is possible. They're basically the same team that went for 67 wins 2 years ago, just now they have Kidd instead of Harris. I expect them to be a lot better then most do, but I also think Kidd still has one more year left in him well most think he's done.

^Hey, cut them some slack... they totally have a chance to get knocked out in the first round again.

The delusional list now includes :
1. Carmelo- For thinking the Nuggets can win 50 games, Olympics made Melo happy so I sympathize.
2. Dirk & Jason - I mean what was they suppose to say ? But for even thinking it was crazy.
3. Larry Brown - Will his team even listen at him ?."Raymond.....Raymond...look at me "
4. Monta Ellis - Riding a damn moped...after signing a fat contract...........stupid.

They will probably get knocked out of the 1st round again.

If they land anywhere between 6-8, Playing the Lakers, Rockets, Hornets, Jazz I doubt they would win any of those series. Let alone take any of them to 7.

The Jason Kidd trade was just stupid. In order for that to work. You'll need to run a isolation style offense with Dirk in the post.
